The ingredients for this ⭐️ Bruschetta Recipe are super easy to prepare. We like to use cherry tomatoes because they only need to be sliced a few times to get the desired size, but you can use any tomato that you wish, such as beefsteak or Roma tomatoes. Larger tomatoes just require a little bit more work and time to chop.

The red onions give a little hotness and zip to this recipe, but you can always substitute white onions for the red onion if you prefer. The white onion will give the recipe a slightly sweeter flavor than if you use the red. In case you are wondering, either one will still make you tear up when cutting.

Nothing beats the taste and texture of fresh mozzarella, but if you don’t have any or if you want to try and keep the costs down for this recipe, just cut up block mozzarella to the right size.

  • 1/2 cup tomatoes chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh mozzarella chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp basil chopped
  • 2 French bread baguette cut in 1/2in slices
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • basil pesto


  • Chop the tomatoes, red onion, and fresh mozzarella into 1/4in pieces.
  • Mince the garlic.  We like to use the ready squeeze garlic.
  • Add the tomatoes, red onion, mozzarella, garlic, basil, salt, pepper and olive oil into a small bowl.  Mix thoroughly.
  • Cut French Bread into 1/2 in slices. set aside
  • Brush each bread slice with basil pesto.
  • Spoon a small amount of the vegetable topping onto each slice
  • Drizzle the Balsamic glaze onto each piece and serve.
