Mozzarella Sticks With Marinara Sauce

Looking for a crowd-pleasing snack for your Memorial Day BBQ? Mozzarella sticks are a classic choice that everyone loves! These cheesy sticks are golden and crispy on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside. Add a cup of zesty marinara sauce for dipping and you’ve got the perfect appetizer!
Ingredients
- 12 mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Prep the Cheese: Start by cutting each mozzarella stick in half for bite-sized portions.
- Set Up Breading Station: In three separate bowls, place the flour in the first, the beaten eggs in the second, and mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in the third.
- Bread the Cheese: Dip each mozzarella stick first in flour, then in the egg wash, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure they are fully covered.
- Chill: Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while frying.
- Fry: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the sticks in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Arrange the mozzarella sticks on a platter and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
