The frozen coffee helps get the creamy texture that will not get watered down as the temperature of the drink rises.

In theory, you could use just ice cubes and coffee, but who likes watered-down coffee? By freezing the coffee, you get the same taste as adding milk directly to your hot coffee in the morning, but in an ice-cold, frosty version.

Now this recipe makes more sense and works out way better than my past experiments. I’ve always just made my coffee cold by placing it into the fridge for an hour or so and just adding ice cubes into the blender with the cold coffee. It always seemed watered down. By freezing the coffee into ice cubes it does something magical and turns the frappes out better than ever. Soooo soooo good!! A win in my book!!

I also had tried cold coffee & ice cubes. The drink was watered down. This recipe tastes exactly like Mc. Frappe. The only criticism I would make is the twxture. It was just not icy enough .I like those lil icy bits. I will try blending it longer next time

Hi. I tried this once and loved the flavor but wanted a different texture. I just made it again, but this time I put the milk in the freezer for 1-1/2 hr., and this was the trick. It tasted just like a frappe from McDonalds. It had little ice chips all the way through! Delicious. Thanks for the recipe. My son now requests one every day.

Thanks for sharing this recipe. Your frappe tasted amazing. My daughter always begs for me to take her to McDonald’s for a frappe. It’s not in my budget, so she uses money that she has saved from her birthday to get her a frappe. Her money goes quick doing that. I have tried to make imitations for her and she has never been satisfied until trying your recipe. After trying this, she said, ok mom I don’t need to go to McDonald’s anymore.

This is amazing & very close to McDonald’s Mocha Frappe! My kids & I love it.
Just be sure not to blend it too long or it won’t be “chippy”. 😊

Made this for keto diet, froze my coffee with my sugar free Fr. vanilla creamer, and added unsweetened almond milk. And topped with my sugar free caramel and chocolate syrup. Will add my sugar free chocolate shavings next time. This was really good, and I can drink it without the extra carbs and calories. Guilt free. I can now have them again,

  9. There is a slight flavor in the McDonald’s mocha frappe that these homemade ones don’t have and I just don’t know what that flavor is. Although these are great, I am drinking one right now, I just wish I knew what that flavor is.
