  • Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in masa harina and chili, and cook until lightly browned or slightly fragrant (stir constantly to prevent burning).
  • Gradually stir in tomato sauce, water, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder into mixture until smooth.
  • Bring to a simmer.
  • Cook 5 - 10 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Season to taste with salt.
  • Use immediately, or store in glass jar in fridge for up to 5 days.
