I'm looking for ideas - what are you planning for dinner?
No one is cooking today?? I'm already hungry and it's only 9:30 AM. No idea what we're going to have tonight.
Homemade chicken noodle soup.:BigHand:
Here are some other ideas from things I made last week - roast pork (with leftovers made into pulled pork sandwiches), spaghetti and chicken fajitas.
Homemade vegetable beef stew.
Gotta find something easy
I have been waiting on dh to make his potato soup but he still hasnt... I think I will make it and see if he likes mine better.. LOL
I have to second the spaghetti....need something easy tonight.
Put a roast in the crockpot this morning. Will make julienne pototes and a vegie when I get home.
I'm not much help - having leftovers. They can choose from spaghetti or pot roast. (assuming Dh doesn't eat it all for lunch lol)
My hubby is working 3-11 today, and I'm off work (yippeee!!!)...so we're having a nice lunch together before he goes to work. Here's what we're having:
Tilapia: sprinkled with salt, pepper and garlic powder, then lightly coated with mayo, then coated in "Fryin' Magic" and baked on a pan, coated with Pam.
Rice: Sauteed onions, garlic, red bell peppers and mushrooms in olive oil. Added rice and chicken broth, and cooked for 30 minutes.
Steamed Broccoli: Pretty easy to figure that one out!
Tonight, it will just be me and the 14 year old. She'd be happy with grilled cheese, but I think we'll do spaghetti and salads.
easy out for me..
Got out the crock pot, didn't bother peeling, just cut potatoes, plopped an english cut roast on top, opened a can of progresso french onion soup poured over top, put the crock pot on high. One of my families fav meals. I stopped pretending adding the carrots, nobody eats them anywho...
I didn't read before I posted, LOL!
Chicken Marsala for me - super easy recipe!
I am makign pizza and salads. I got a really good deal on boboli so I will probably use that, even though I like the pillsbury crust better. Peperoni for the kids. Pineapple and candian bacon for me and DH.
Sounds wonderful - do you mind posting the recipe?:wavehi:
Thanks for the replies - ALL of those sound delicious (still hungry)!
I was thinking about chicken and dumplings but I may do spaghetti too - think I still have some meatballs in the freezer and we'll round it out with some broccoli. I try to do a "carby" meal the nights before the girls have soccer games so that would be perfect.
I'm thinking a turkey burger on a ww sandwich round or english muffin with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. Maybe cheese.
Sure! - I cut this in half since there are just 2 of us and the recipe serves 4.
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/4 lb)
1/2 cup flour (I use whole wheat)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1/2 cup dry Marsala wine
Between sheets of plastic wrap or waxed paper, flatten each chicken breast to 1/4-inch thickness. In shallow dish, mix flour, salt and pepper. Coat chicken with flour mixture; shake off excess flour. In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook garlic, mushrooms and parsley in oil 5 minutes, stirring frequently.Add chicken to skillet. Cook about 8 minutes, turning once, until brown. Add wine. Cook 8 to 10 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center. Serve with pasta or rice.
home made chicken nuggets and onion rings w/ a salad .. chicken corn tortilla soup tomorrow night ..
A couple of ideas.....
Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches with Shells and Cheese and Herb and Butter Potatoes
Lemon Pepper Chicken and Fettuchini Alfreado with Garlic Bread
I still haven't decided.....
Update!! The "dinner" with my husband that I posted was wonderful!!! And now the 14 year old is home, and asked for burgers for dinner. I've still got some of those frozen patties from Aldi's, so that's what she'll get. No spaghetti afterall. I'll probably have tuna salad or a veggie burger, and I'll let her pick a side from the storerooom.
