Welcome to September! Be on the lookout for summer clearance and for school supplies to be on clearance by the end of the month. My last kid will be going to school on Labor Day, so I know I will be spending a lot of money and just hope to get some deals at Walmart.

Here are some deals to be on the lookout for in September.

As for me, I need to start doing some restocking. My girls have wiped me out of shampoo, conditioners. tissues, medicine and the toothpaste stockpile is under 10. I will be on the hunt for deals and look forward to hearing about your bargains. Post away!

I used my Marlboro.com points to get a $10 Uber card for D1. She is doing an internship at a location that is 20 mins from her campus and can get a ride there but has to take the bus home. The bus stop is on a busy roadway at a gas station and I am worried about her travelling when the weather gets colder and daylight savings makes it get darker sooner. An UBER would cost $15 one way and she will try that next week.
I joined Marlboro.com to get coupons mailed for trades and signed up for the points program. You can earn points by watching videos, answering surveys or entering pack codes. I do not smoke, but did get some codes in a trade.

Was in Kroger around 8:30 PM last night, when they announced the $9.99 frozen breast nuggets were .99 a bag. Should have seen the mad rush! Was just these two flavors, but hey, .99 is a steal! :D

@Jorainna you have a knack of being in the right place at the right time. So glad you did not get trampled in the stampede. LOL!

Today, I used bottle deposits to pay for part of my order and that made 2 cans of Redpack tomato paste free. The were on sale 3 for $2.

I used my Amazon credits to place a prime pantry order for some well needed Reynolds aluminum foil and 10 snack/breakfast items. My OOP was $4.21.

Yesterday's mail brought a can of Friskies cat food (Rosie loved it) and it had 2 coupons...1 for a free small bag of cat food and a b1 g1 canned cat food coupon. Rosie will be thrilled the next time I go shopping. :D

Today I went to Walgreens and stacked coupons for the first time. I was buying cortizone 10 priced at $5.99. I was able to use the $1.00 off coupon in the monthly coupon book plus there was a .55c peelie coupon on the product that I was happy to see! So $1.55 savings and earned points on my rewards card at checkout. Not a big savings but my first time stacking coupons so I was excited about it lol.

@itsfun2save , I love to stack coupons, especially at CVS. They let you use coupons from the red kiosk and mfg coupon plus any other applicable cvs coupon (like $10 off $60 or $3 off 12 make up purchase). Always look for deals online for both cvs and Walgreens.

I do not have a Walgreens by this house, but there is one by my other house. The store personnel were not to keen on coupons, esp if they beeped (but I had the correct item) so I stopped shopping there.

I am getting a $20 Visa gc from SBKC and ordered it last night. I will use the funds to pay for stock up items I need and will probably spend it at cvs.

A downside of free firewood is free poison ivy. Luckily, I am keep it limited to one finger and my right leg, but really would be happy if I did not get it at all. Funny how Crankie did not get it but I did.

A fellow teacher left me a small basket of fresh tomatoes from her garden. I will freeze the tomatoes and use them in sauces, stews and chilli.

Last weekend and this past weekend I went to yard sales on my island. For $5 I bought a 5 qt Calphalon soup pot in very good condition. A lid I have at home fits perfectly. Yesterday, I picked up 2 candles for $2.
I used Amazon gift cards to place a prime pantry order yesterday and paid $1.20 for 21 items. My order included snacks, pasta, cake mixes, a box of tissues, soups and some ready to eat meals. I also used the by 5 get $5 off option and received free shipping with Prime. Since my budget is extremely tight, this is a way to add to my stock pile for very little oop.

Friday we received a coupon for $10 off FreshStep Cat Litter from PINCHme. Plan to get that used soon, since it is currently on sale -- but of course, I forgot yesterday. :(

Also got some frozen Asian meals with a B1G1 coupon last week. The store clear across town had them on sale and it wasn't until we got all the way home that I realized the coupon had come off at maximum value instead of the sale price. Too far to drive back and correct it and that store has been a REAL problem in the past, but we ended up with two free multi-serve meals.

We went out of town shopping yesterday. DH needed a new microphone for his computer and none of our stores seemed to have them.

Right before we left Staples sent a $10 off a $10 purchase coupon so I was able to print it and we hoped to use it on a new microphone. They closed our store here, so I rarely get to use Staples coupons any longer.

Unfortunately, the store didn't have what he needed so we wandered around the store looking for other options.

We could have gotten four cases of water for less than $2, but that would have been bulky and heavy. Neither of us were thrilled with the prospect since we only use bottled water when we travel.

Finally settled on printer paper. It was $6.99 a ream and the store had a Buy two, get one free sale going. We bought three reams of paper and paid $3.98 after coupon. Not quite free, but about the best you can do since Staples quit doing rebates on it.

Yesterday, I went in for my 6 month dental check up and it was free, covered by my dental insurance. This visit also qualifies me for a $75 refund from aflac for a health checkup.
My plans to visit a bunch of stores last night did not work out since it was getting late and I was tired. So I skipped Shoprite and Walmart since it would have added another hour to my trip.
At Dollar Tree, due to some poor planning on my part, I did get some birthday cards I needed, but neglected to get a card for my mom and a baby shower card/bag. However, I did find birthday cards for my nieces and cousins, 2 curad bandaids, 2 hall cough drops, 2 baby items and a box of scotties tissues (Ibotta rebate of .50 cents plus .10 cents for any items). I used a coupon to get one of the Hall's cough drops free.
At Bath and body works, I used mailer coupons to get a free aromatherapy small lotion and picked up a pump soap for my downstairs bathroom. The coupon made it $2.95 and I received another 20% off (cost $2.56 with tax)
At kohls, I had a use it or lose it $5 coupon and decided to look in the baby section for a gift. I found 3 Carters outfits, one on sale and 2 on clearance, a Hallmark gift bag and 2 Hallmark cards for $19.71 after using my Kohls charge and getting 30% off.
The cashier was giving me a tough time about the HARVEST 30 CODE and wanted a scannable code. I cannot log on to my kohls app or charge account and this has been an issue ever since they made it EASIER??? to combine everything their site. Well, nothing looks different on the site and I cannot log on after calling them twice. I will try a third time and hope it works. After telling the cashier (who was a MOD) that I would leave the stuff if she did not take the code, she relented and finished my order. It seems they frown upon the codes and scanned codes are preferred but I am glad the lady did take off the 30%.
I did stop in CVS, across from the Kohls shopping center and used a raincheck to get 3 Bumblebee solid white tunas in water for $3.33.

Today is National Cheeseburger Day so several burger restaurants are doing deals.

We went to Carl's Jr. and got a free Famous Star with Cheese with the purchase of a large drink.

If you live out West, Shari's is offering $1 Beyond Burger Cheeseburgers today and Red Robin is offering $5 Gourmet Cheeseburgers, as well.

Yesterday we were able to pick up a box of Kellogg's Cereal for 29 cents after mega sale and high value digital coupon.

We also picked up a bag of frozen shelled edamame for about 89 cents (retail $2.69) after mega sale and digital coupon.

A bag of markdown stir-fry mix surprised us when a digital coupon came off -- that generally doesn't happen. It was normally $3.49, was on markdown for $1.79 and came down to 79 cents a/c.

A quart of organic, low-sodium chicken broth was 59 cents after mega sale and best customer coupon.

A bag of organic tortilla chips was 49 cents after mega sale and digital coupon.

Then since we also bought a box of Quorn on mega sale with a $1 digital coupon that was about to expire, the register also took off a $1 coupon on purchases from the natural foods department.

Was able to pickup some good deals on detergent today at Family Dollar. Gain was on sale for $3.95 minus $2 digital coupon, paid $1.95. Love the smell of Gain! Also picked up Tide pods, was on sale for $2.95 minus $2 digital coupon, paid .95cents. Always makes me happy when I can get laundry detergent for a really good price!

I need to get over to the Piggly Wiggly soon as I saw they have canned vegetables on sale for .39cents a can. Good time to stock up!

Grateful to my Dad for topping off my gas tank on the way back from NJ. As an Exxon retiree, he gets a 10 % discount on gas purchases when he uses his Exxon credit card.
