Very easy, and easy to substitute in

Tater Tot Casserole, version ONE

1 pound ground beef -- browned and drained
1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
1 can canned green beans
1/3 - 1 lb. bag tater tots


Preheat oven to 350F. Place the ground beef in a 13 x 9 inch baking pan, or casserole dish. Pour soup over beef. Layer the green beans on top of the soup. Cover top with tater tots. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly and tater tots are golden.


Tator Tot Casserole, version TWO

1 1/2 pound ground beef -- browned and drained
1 onion – chopped (onion is optional)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cans canned green beans
8 slices american cheese
1 lb. bag tater tots


Brown ground beef and onion together and drain. Preheat oven to 350F. Place ground beef mixture in bottom of casserole. Combine the two soups and pour over beef. Layer the green beans on top of the soup. Cover evenly with the cheese slices and top with tater tots. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until tater tots are cooked through and golden. You can substitute other vegetables if desired.

We have been making this for about 30 years. Even my fussiest eater loves it.

My friend makes this but she uses chicken and calls it "White Trash Casserole". It tastes great!

Instead of green beans I use mixed veggies. I've used cream of celery soup or potato, any cream soup will do in a pinch.
