Recipes - Tried & True Low Sodium Meatloaf (The Glaze on this is AWESOME)

Low Sodium Meatloaf

I used some red pepper instead of black pepper. I left the egg out. I also added some Mrs. Dash seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to the meat.

1 1/2 lb Ground Beef
1 c Breadcrumbs,Low Sodium (I make low sodium homemade bread and toast it, then put it in the food processor to crumble.)
1 Onion,Finely Chopped
1/4 c Egg Substitute or 1 egg
1/4 t Black Pepper
1/2 c Water
8 oz No Salt Added Tomato Sauce
2 t Worcestershire
3 T Vinegar
2 T Mustard
3 T Brown Sugar


Mix together meat, breadcrumbs, onion, egg and pepper and 1/2 the tomato sauce...form into one large loaf or two small ones; mix all other ingredients together; pour over loaves....bake at 350 for 1-1/2 hrs

It's the best meatloaf I've ever had. The glaze gives it a more BBQ flavoring.

If you want salt, just add a little.
