Finder of Lost "Blinkies"
We know that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be top of mind for many of you – just as it is for all of us here at IKEA U.S. I wanted to take a moment today to share with you what we are doing to ensure that our co-workers and customers are safe and cared for as this situation continues to evolve.
Here’s what we are currently doing:
- We maintain high standards for the quality and cleanliness of our locations every day. During this time, we are increasing the frequency of deep cleaning and sanitizing all stores (including our Småland play areas), distribution centers and offices as an added precaution.
- We are reminding our co-workers and customers to take appropriate preventive hygiene methods to minimize the potential risk of infection through in-store signage and communication.
- We have always ensured that the health & well-being of our 18,000 co-workers is supported through our existing benefits package and paid leave policy. We have enhanced our policy to cover any Coronavirus-related absences. This enables them to stay home to care for themselves and/or their family members who have been impacted.
- We have cancelled all non-essential co-worker air travel and large group meetings related to our business through the end of March.
We will continue to watch this situation closely and take guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local authorities. Please be assured, we are taking all necessary steps to keep our IKEA communities safe and are prepared to take any further actions as this situation develops. Our online store is available 24/7 at IKEA.com , which is where you can also find any relevant updates on our store locations.
Lastly, as a company that cares deeply about people & planet, our thoughts remain with those directly affected by the virus and those working tirelessly to treat them. We appreciate you.
