I've been hoping for that announcement!

Five days left in the month, we've still got half a tank of gas and almost $2 in fuel rewards that were about to expire.

Discounts don't do much good when there is no place to go.

I was wondering if I was silly for not shopping at WinCo last month. :p Had to shop there for yeast, tortillas and quite a bit of produce the past week, because it was so much cheaper.

I have plenty of yeast from a Mega sale a while back, maybe last year, but on my last bag of whole wheat flour. I still have some white flour though, and plenty of cereal, so I made Raisin Bran muffins the other day. We may have to be creative in our cooking and shopping until the panic buying subsides.

The Winter Live Naturally coupons mostly expire 4/30/20, may be new ones out, haven't seen any yet.

I was out of yeast, but still had plenty of flour! :p

Of course, I've also got grain and a mill so I'm not too worried about flour. It's just so loud, I can't stand to be in the house when it is running. That's why we usually buy flour and eat most of our grains cooked.

WinCo's bulk yeast was wiped out by the panic, but it had a case of SAF Yeast right by the bulk bins. I suspect they'd had so many questions about the empty bins they thought that was the place to display it.

A bag of SAF should last me most of the year. I just wish our Kroger stores sold it! It is so much cheaper than Fleischman's or Red Star.

I needed baking powder too and had forgotten how much cheaper Rumford is at WinCo than FM -- about a dollar a can difference! I used to make a special trip to buy it there and grabbed one while I was picking up the yeast.

Still haven't figured out if Rumford is worth the extra money just to avoid aluminum. They had us TERRIFIED of aluminum in the 1980s and 1990s. Now environmentalists are telling us to buy soda pop in aluminum cans because plastic bottles are "evil." o_O

FM used to carry the bags of refrigerated Bob's Red Mill yeast in Natural Foods, not sure if they still do but it was economical if you used a lot of yeast, and included in the line sales.
I got Rumford last time at Walmart, cheaper there I think and I can use Ibotta $$ to pay. I'm not shopping at Walmart right now though.
I have headphone style hearing protectors for the noisy household stuff like blenders, they are a good investment IMO.

We still take precautions, but thankfully we aren't too hard hit on this side of the state ... yet, since we're so close to Wyoming and Utah borders.

Sun Valley had a convention that attracted skiers from all over the world right as Coronavirus got started so it was the first spot in the state to become a hot bed. From there it quickly spread to Twin Falls and Boise.

The governor laid out guidelines for reopening the state on Wednesday and the rules are actually VERY cautious. We aren't really supposed to be doing much except a few necessities until the very end of May -- actually June 1. Still no haircuts till May 15. He definitely doesn't want everything thrown wide open at once -- and the guidelines don't go into effect until May.

The psychological effect HAS NOT been good, however. The roads around town were PACKED with cars yesterday -- which hasn't been the case in previous weeks. Hardly anyone except store employees were wearing masks and the next door neighbors had two cars from Colorado "visiting."

That IS NOT what the governor said. When will anyone learn?

    Email today from FM:
Although it feels different because we aren’t used to it, I remind myself to keep the proper physical distance when I’m in our stores and around other people. I also wear a mask when I’m in our stores, and I encourage you to do so as well. We’ve provided masks for all of our store associates to wear, and starting this Sunday, we’ll be requiring our associates to wear them, in locations where they’re not already mandated. Our associates are also welcome to bring their own suitable masks or facial coverings to work, if they prefer.

We recognize that some associates, due to medical reasons or other circumstances, may not be able to wear a mask. We’re sourcing face shields to provide for those associates, and we’ll also explore other potential options as needed.

Thanks for sharing! I'm still not getting FM emails. Don't know if I got bumped off the list again or if they just figure Idaho isn't as hard hit as Washington and Oregon. There are still FM stores in Twin Falls and Boise even if the Eastern side of the state isn't hit quite as hard -- and what about the panhandle? :(

If you sign in and go to My Account, do you have the Communications option in the list at the left? That has Email Preferences.

Yes, all the proper boxes are checked. They were coming just fine until they suddenly stopped about February 24. I've been hoping it is just a Coronavirus pause, but last time my emails stopped was when Kroger Cincinnati took over from Portland. It took three years and an unbelievable number of e-mails, phone calls and receipt survey complaints to get them started again. They kept telling me to unsubscribe then re-subscribe and it NEVER helped.

I called both Portland and Cincinnati a couple weeks ago to ask, but got the same recorded message on both. "If it isn't urgent, hang up."

Called the local store and the customer service gal said she thought they weren't sending them during Coronavirus, but I often know more about how their computer system works than they do. You seem to be getting them in Washington which she didn't know.

The only FM emails I've been getting are FM Jewelers, and now that I think of it after almost daily emails even though the jewelry stores were closed those haven't even been coming the past few days. o_O
