Thanks to Food.com for this one. I've made it many times and even added jarred mushrooms for extra topping, but have never frozen and then baked it myself. I have posted the halved version with my equivalents of some ingredients, but the doubled version is in the link. I have also used ground turkey and most turkey pepperoni packs are near 4 ounces.

Easy Pizza Pasta Casserole (OAMC)

About This Recipe
This is a kid pleaser-very cheesy and topped with pepperoni. It makes a large (9x13) casserole or 2 small ones.
Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or 1 lb ground venison
  • 1/2 large onions, chopped (2 tsp. Onion Flakes)
  • 1/2 clove garlic, minced (1/4 teaspoon jarred minced garlic)
  • 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 8 ounces rotini pasta, cooked and drained
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese ( 10 oz)
  • 4 ounces sliced pepperoni
Directions

  1. Brown ground beef, onion, garlic and seasoning in oil.
  2. Drain.
  3. Stir in pasta, spaghetti sauce and 1 1/2 cups cheese.
  4. Place mixture in greased 9x13x2 inch baking pans or 2 square pans.
  5. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
  6. Top with pepperoni.
  7. Cover and freeze up to 3 months.
  8. To cook now: Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until heated through.
  9. To bake frozen casserole: Thaw in refrigerator overnight and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, till hot.
