Crock-pot baked Sweet Potatoes or Yams

5 medium size sweet potatoes or yams, scrubbed and left dripping wet
butter or other for serving

Prick each potato with a fork or tip of knife to prevent bursting. Pile into the slow cooker; do not add water. Cover and cook on LOW until tender (pierce with tip of a knife of check for doneness), 4 - 6 hours, depending on the size of the potatoes. The more potatoes in the cooker, the longer the cook time.

Remove the potatoes from the crock pot with gons, serve split open and piping hot with butter.
