Almond Dream Bars

18 graham crackers
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup undiluted evaporated milk
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup flake coconut
½ cup chopped dried apricots
Almond Icing (recipe follows)

Line bottom of buttered 8-inch square dish with 9 graham crackers. In medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil. Remove from heat. Immediately stir in graham cracker crumbs, ¾ cup almonds, coconut and chopped apricots. Reserve remaining almonds for topping. Spread apricot mixture evenly over graham crackers in disk. Top with remaining 9 graham crackers. Press down firmly. Spread with Almond Icing. Sprinkle with remaining sliced almonds. Chill util firm. Cut into bars.

Almond Icing:

1 ½ cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons undiluted evaporated milk
½ teaspoon almond extract

Blend powdered sugar with softened butter. Add evaporated milk and almond extract. Beat until smooth.
