I never ask for anyone's real address as I don't actually trade. I do, however, ask for their preferred Amazon.com e-mail addy if they win one of of my RAOKs, so that I can send them gift cards for prizes.
I was just about to send ten former winners each $5,000 gift cards but, luckily for them, I saw this thread just in time and decided not to. :whistle67:
I always love warning labels and that's why this post made me giggle this morning--feels like a warning label (don't use hair dryer in bathtub, etc) heheh :hysterical:
Since you were thinking about being so generous before you read this thread, how about pretend you didn't see this thread and let me send you my unsolicited address anyway?!!! :hysterical:
I got something in the mail just this week for a kid's school wanting me to order magazines. In the PS line it says HCW. I have no idea whose kid this even is. It's not so much that I minded them sending it, but I don't even know who the HCW member is because I can't remember sending to the address on the form. ??
You do not have to send me your address. I mailed out a $5000 check to you yesterday. I addressed the envie to "tnee, Tennesee" so I am certain that the Post Office will have no trouble in finding you.
LOL I wish I had your faith in the PO Fillies Fan....well, I had faith in them before yesterday. I mailed a package to MsSweetCheeks and had weighed it before taking it there ... luckily for me, because when the postal clerk weighed it she said it was 2 lbs. I thought...you've got to be kidding, but when she insisted 3 times, I said "no way"...on my reliable Pitney Bowes scale at work it said 9 ounces! She fiddled with her scale for several minutes and finally agreed it weighed 9 ounces. OK ... now we're making progress :BigHand:
I had put $2.46 postage on it, so knew I needed 94c more and wanted to use some stamps from my packet with all kinds of denominations. I got 4 pennies from my purse and opened my packet of stamps and took a couple 45c stamps out, which she snatched from my hand before I could lick them and she pressed them heavily on a sponge to wet them, but she overdid it and now they wouldn't stick, so she hands them back and says I can't use them. Huh?? I asked if she had some glue and we could stick them on with that. No, the PO has no glue anywhere! OK I opened my packet of stamps again and handed her 3- 29c stamps making 87c (which she asked me how much is 3x9 while she was figuring out the value of those 3 stamps) and gave her 7 pennies to make 94c. She looked at the 29c stamps and said I couldn't use them...Huh?? Why?? She asked if they are USA stamps and where did I buy them? I said from this post office ... when it cost 29c to send a letter. Then the lady postal clerk next to her got into the act and really botched it up. She picked up a piece of paper which had been copied as a guide...it had photos of various stamps on it and they both looked at the paper and agreed there were no 29c stamps listed there, so I couldn't use them. I am a very patient, calm person, but had to tell them to look in their computer and they would see those stamps came from a 100 count coil...but hey, they informed me that they don't have computers!! Then the clerk next to the one helping me had a "light" turn on in her head and said "These are bulk mail stamps and you can't use them on first class mail". I insisted they were "real" stamps for any type of mail and I had the right to use them. Since we hit a stalemate (more than 30 minutes had passed by now and I knew I would be late getting back to work anyway) I wasn't going to back down :rolleyes24: I asked them to go find somebody in the back who knows more than they do. Ten minutes later a guy comes out, tells them that the paper they were relying on was only for stamps that had NO denomination on them and that my stamps were perfectly good for use as postage. Whew! So my clerk grabs the 3- 29c stamps, smashed them on her sponge and guess what---now they wouldn't stick. :hysterical6: I stepped back, took out 3 more stamps and asked her to please "lightly" put my new strip of 3 stamps on her sponge and take my pennies and we would be DONE!
I hope she did it right, but she wouldn't let me test to see if those 3 stamps were firmly sticking...so MsSweetCheeks, I'm going to be asking you on Monday, the day of delivery if those 3-29c stamps are on there or not! I did watch her hand cancel them, so if they are not, don't let anyone tell you there's postage due...the cancellation can be seen even without the stamps if they fell off and worst case scenario...I saved the receipt showing I paid the full $3.40!! And sorry, I totally don't trust these 2 employees ... the guy in the back was marvelous and I thanked him profusely
You are being watched, 24 hrs a day, when your time, is up.
The machine will find you.:whistle67:
But...but...the Post Office was brought to you by those wonderful folks who gave you the TSA and the IRS -- how can you possibly not be thrilled by that?
If that is your actual picture in your avatar, I am going to join the NSA just so that I can watch you 24/7!
