My husband said he was in the mood for a good burger. And frankly that sounded good to me too. So when I spotted this recipe I thought I should put it on my meal plan because burgers + pizza….yeah that sounds pretty tasty to me. My kids are not huge burger fans though so I am hoping that if I made them mini pizza burgers (AKA sliders) that they will give these a try! Wish me luck!

Nothing in this recipe breaks the bank. You can often get pepperoni super cheap by watching your sales and combining it with coupons. The specialty ciabatta buns might be a bit more pricy than regular buns (which you could totally use) but I don’t think they break the bank. Also I love that this uses just a little marinara sauce because to be honest with you, my 16 year old, Hannah, loves to make spaghetti and it seems that I always have an open jar of sauce in the fridge.
- lb 80% lean ground beef
- 1 lb mild Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 lb thick cut bacon
- ½ cup shredded Italian cheese
- 1 (7-oz) package pepperoni
- 6 slices provolone cheese

- 6 Tbsp marinara sauce
