I really don't dislike Boscovs' because their merchandise variety is plentiful and prices are still reasonable. I gave Boscovs' two stars for lack of disabled parking....very few spaces. I really do not think the entire complex is not following governmental rules because of so few spaces available and the ones that are there are never near entrance doors. The lot caters to the able, not the disabled.

I never write reviews, but in today's culture of store employees that act like customers are a bother and they are doing you a favor waiting on you, I felt compelled to write this. Today, I took my 87 year old father, who lives with us, to the Boscov's in Christiana, DE. He desperately needed shoes that he could get on and off by himself. He values his independence and will not let anyone help him. Instead, he struggles for quite some time with the task. The shoe department was mobbed. My father chose a couple of shoes he liked and I went to find someone to get the correct size. There was no one available, so I just stood waiting until I saw a mature aged employee that looked like he might be free to help. I asked, "Are you one of the people getting shoes for customers?" He pleasantly said, "No, but I will get them for you anyway." He came back saying none of them were available. I thanked him and walked back to my dad. Suddenly, the employee was right there, showing us which shoes came in the width and size my dad needed. He explained exactly how the shoes were marked, etc. (Sketchers). He helped my dad chose the ones that met his needs and then went back and got the correct sizes and assisted him as he tried them on. He was kind, thoughtful, knew just how to converse with a man my father's age, was very knowledgable and treated my father with respect. He carried the boxes up to the register and told the employee there to ring them up for us We thanked him for being so kind and helpful. I am almost certain this happened to be the department manager. I wish I had gotten his name. We were so impressed with him! Added bonus, 2 very pleasant employees were holding the doors open for the elderly customers.

They think about the older people as well as the young when it comes to their clothes.
