Rewards Card...

I was wondering something about Winn Dixie's Reward Card. Do give the card before or after your coupons? Reason why I'm asking is last Wednesday I was in there and threw a fit. When the cashier insisted I give her my card before my coupons. She told me that that is the way it is suppose to be done. I then told her I have shopped in here every week and never had a problem. She called a manager and I guess the manager let it slide. As I was finishing up paying, she then told me next time I wont be able to do that again. So I wondering if I'm in the right or if she is. She acted like I was cheating the system or something. I just want to save money!!

I am confused as to why it matters either way....I always give them my card first, but never pondered why it would matter....

I scan my card after the items have been scanned, then give my coupons.

The reason being for giving after my coupons is because when you buy the Meal Deals. The free items you can't use coupons on. From what I have been told.

I always scan my card at the beginning of the transaction. That's when the cashier usually asks for it anyway. And then give them my coupons at the end.

I've noticed recently that the way the register computes the sales prices has changed-- at least I'm pretty sure it's changed since I haven't taken notice of it this way before. Even after scanning my card first, the total before BOGO deals discounts will show at the end . Then you can watch as the total goes down with all the BOGO's coming off all at once.

I know where atleast i live that you have to buy both items at this store for the bogo deals in order to get the sale. If you give them your card first are you still able to use a coupon on each bogo item since one will ring up free?

Yes, you can use a coupon on each item of a true BOGO where one rings up $0, regardless of when the card is scanned.

I don't think it's written in any kind of policy that they must take the rewards card first, but I know they do usually ask for it first.. probably so they don't forget to use it or ask if you have it... I'm not really sure... if they have a printed coupon policy I would refer to that OR call your store and ask.

I always give my card at the end, so I can see what the total is before any discounts..The only thing is they do usually scan any coupons for marked down items..But I still have a before price, then do my rewards card and then coupons.

If the cashier asks for my card..I put it at the end of my order, and tell her/him it is at the end of my order...I usually use the one on my ley chain, and they can see my kets at the end of the order.
