Using 10 off $50 questions. Help!

Hi Ladies,

I am trying to find some info about using my 10/50. I have been using it after my rewards card has been swiped but can I use it on the purchase prior to that? I asked the manager and she said it had to be after the rewards card but from what I see on here many people use the coupon and then swipe their rewards card. :shrug7:


Also, can I use multiple 10/50 coupons on one purchase? I received a regular one and then one from the baby rewards program and wanted to use it on the same purchase but I wasn't sure.

What about using a 10/50 that someone else gave you?

My store will not allow me to use the 10/50 until my card has been scanned.
You can use a 10/50 that someone has given you. I have been given $/$$ that other customers didn't want at my store, they are not connected to your card.
I don't think you can use multiple $/$$ coupons in the same order. You might be able to if you spent $100, but I'm not sure.

I've never even thought about using one before scanning my card and I really doubt any store would allow that. I do not believe you can use more than one in a single transaction. I have a 10/50 right here and it says "off $50 or more". You can use a $/$ generated from another card. They aren't tied to any individual card. HTH!

I think using it before scanning your card would not be ok. It sounds like a way to use a 10/50 with only spending $50 before the rewards card takes off the BIGIF or other sales. Then they scan the card and your total drops below $50. I might be wrong and that was not how you meant it but if it is, I would consider that using a coupon in a fradulant way.

I do not think a store would allow this and I do not think this is an acceptable practice.

I am not aware that people are using coupons and then swiping their reward cards. What would be the purpose of this? If it would be to use a coupon that the store may not accept, such as a store that does not allow two coupons on a BIGIF, this would be against the rules of that store.

What does the baby club catalina say? If they are both 10/50 you could not use them in one transaction. If you wanted to use both, you would need to split your transactions into more than one.

Catalina's are transferable, so if someone gives you one, you can use it.

I have used a 10 off 50 and a 4 off order together. I had even forgotten and went to service desk and got credit/cash back.

Since WD often gives me a hard time about coupons and alcoholic beverages with the $10/50, I often take the WD $10/50 to Publix (they take it as a competitor coupon) where I seem to be able to buy anything with it - no problems.

Diannery is exactly right! I have been given such a hard time about seemingly everything at WD that I buy something small there each week to get my $10/50 then use it at Publix. They don't nitpick like WD!!!

It also seems amazingly petty to me that if you have a $50 purchase that includes a $5 bottle of wine WD won't honor the coupon!

Here's the perspective from the other side:

It's not so much that WD is nitpicking about the $10 off coupons. Rather, it is against Florida Law to offer/accept coupons on alcohol, tobacco. Grocers make very little on lotto (5%), money orders, etc. & postage stamps are sold at cost as a convenience. So, of course, those are excluded as well.

If Publix is accepting the $10 WD coupon for alcohol, tobacco, etc. and your order - not including the alcohol/tobacco - isn't over $50, then Publix is breaking the law.

I have a burning question about the $10/50 Q... sorry if this is off topic a bit but I really am desperate for help.
I shop at Winn-Dixie several times a month..... and I NEVER get a $10/50. The only way I get one is to find it blowing around on the ground outside. I have treid everything (buying one item, buying several) but I guess I'm doomed to search the parking lot for them. :-(
It's really sad.. my sister can walk in and buy a stick of gum and gets one.
Is there a method or pattern to them? TIA for any help.
