No home mailers? Why? WD answers...sort of.

I sent an email to WD asking why I didn't recieve home mailers. Here's my email to them:

Comments=I visited my mother-in-law recently. She told me that she had gotten coupons for $10 off a $50 purchase in the mail. I waited and waited for mine, but didn't get them.
Why? Can I sign up to recieve coupons in the mail or be placed on a mailing list? Please let me know.

Here's there response:

Thank you for contacting us with your inquiry. The coupons that you receive at check-out as well as those mailed are distributed based on various different shopping factors. These coupons are given on a random basis to our customers and you may or may not receive

I guess my business is not that important to them! Just gives me another reason to shop at Publix!

I never get them either--that's why I'm always shuffling through the parking lot like a loiterer, checking all the carts in the cart corral areas, and sending my kids to pick up every piece of paper in the parking lot and around the entrance to the store. I've probably found $200 or more in $/$$ coupons in the past 8 months by doing this (plus a $10 bill, tons of change and other catalinas and manufacturer's coupons that people have tossed or dropped.) Of course people think I'm nuts but I shop A LONG way from where I live so no one knows me anyway--LOL!

I've never received mailers from WD or Publix. :shrug7:

There are still ways to save money. WD having catalina machines is a higs plus IMHO.

I get get mailed the baby mailer every month and it usually comes with a $5/30 purchase q, I usually just use it a publix though.

I'm still on their baby club, so that's one mailing list.
I'm on their insert mailing list. (This was a holdover from when they used to have those $25 free items. No longer, but it's still convenient to get the insert as I don't get the weekly paper). Ya gotta call their main number to do that; I don't think you can do it online, unless that's changed.
Between those two, I get coupons every now and then.

I suppose one could sign up for the wine club....I'd bet those trigger a few coupons mailer every now and then as well.

I get the Baby Club mailer all the time. I also get the $10/$50's at the checkout all the time. But, it's gotten to the point where their sales aren't good enough for me to buy $50 worth of stuff and I end up letting them expire. What I have noticed is that the $'s off coupons don't always print out the first time I shop during the new sales week. Kind of silly. But, I end up making an extra trip sometimes, just in case the next week is loaded with good sales.

Check the little trashcans at the self checkout. There are usually catalinas in there. One time I got 6 $10/75!! I use them at Publix.
