Newbie from Va

Hello all!

I am very excited to be here. Like some, I came here after seeing that extreme "FOS" show (excuse my french), but it did get me thinking. I am 36 yo male, soon-to-be married, and shortly after that comes lil IOTABE's (eventually). My DF watches that show all the time and complains about our $1200/m food bill. She also works full time and complains about not having time to clip or sort. That's where I step in.

I am a self employed small business owner and I often have a few hours here and there between jobs or what have you. So far I have learned a ton and I'm slowly preparing to wage an economical battle with my food/home supply bills!

I look forward to easing into this and eventually getting into trading and everything else this site offers. For now I am just starting a list of what we buy and what we "normally" pay. Once that is complete I should have a decent stock of coupons to begin my strategic isle assaults. Thankfully we have an extra room in the basement so stockpiling, at least for now, will be covered.

Thanks again to everyone here for all the great info and resources. Once I become more familiar with it I hope to invite friends and family to take advantage as well.

I am also in NoVa, Burke to be exact. I don't mind the stalking, coupon groupies?? (this guy makes me grin)

lol She exaggerates I would guess closer to $800 with a bunch of that being wine (we have two labs too, but mostly just us). I want to get that closer to $300-$400 and we'll go from there.

oh and any clues on where to get free/cheap insert in the area would not be simply fantastic. I have looked a lil but FFC does not seem very open to diving and such.

They aren't, plus our coupons suck. Honestly, most of the time I just trade here for coupons. Have you signed up to be a TNT? Here's the link.

I know the Fairfax Times sometimes has the inserts in their... Thursday paper, I think. That paper used to be free, I believe.

I'm in Alexandria, so not too far from you. :) $300-$400 is very doable!

Thanks to all and @ VivaciousJewelz I had not singed up but it sounds like I should, I am not going to use 90% of these printables which seem like good deals for someone who would. Lots on rolls this month it seems, and we don't eat them (yet, our diet may change).

I am going to introduce my DF to the site tonight she is excited to see everything I have found, and we'll see where it goes. Feel free to PM any local deals you run into and I will happily do the same if you wish. My DF works in Alexandria/Springfield and I just finished a job in Olde Towne at 3pm, small world.
