Perfect timing to begin! You will definitely lower that bill, but it more than likely won't be by shopping at Walmart. This is a great place with great members who are willing to answer your questions and always share their great finds. Welcome!
Hello everyone, new to couponing, looking forward to lowering our $800 monthly Wal-Mart bill...especially because child #4 is currently "in the oven."

Thanks. Kinda surprised that it won't be at Wal-Mart since they "match prices" but...I'm learning. ;O
That is a great help. But there are grocery stores that double coupons and often triple them. Matched with their sales you can often walk out with free or nearly free products. I haven't shopped in Walmart in years, but when I did ours would not take printable coupons which is also a plus at the grocery stores.
You can save a lot at Walmart with price matching and coupons, don't get me wrong, but you can usually save even more by avoiding them. And you'll really be surprised when you visit the drugstore forums and find out that shopping at Walgreens, CVS and Riteaid can be cheaper than Walmart, too. The first step in couponing is to forget everything you already know about saving on groceries. Check out the forums for grocery and drug stores near you and see what members here are doing at those (Store Deals - Hot Coupon World). It is a good idea to start with one drugstore and one grocery store and learn how to save at those and then move on (meanwhile keeping your habit of saving on everyday, non-sale priced items at Walmart until you start building your stockpile from fabulous store sales matched with coupons).

Ain't that funny? When I saw you said you spent $800 a month at Walmart, I was like..."who can afford to shop at Walmart?"

Hi and Welcome!
What other grocery stores do you have near you?. I live in SE Kansas..so most of my grocery store shopping still is at Wallyworld. But I make a run up to Dillons once a month or so to bulk up on the cheap stuff there.

From another Derby person, welcome and back slowly away from Walmart! Or at least only stop in to pick up the free stuff and the produce price matched from Aldi. Come on over to the Dillon's forum and join us. Dillon's doubles coupons and takes expireds! We also have one of the more coupon friendly Targets here compared to a lot of places.
Welcome!
