The STATS:

-27 year old mother of two.
-Place of residence: San Antonio, Texas.
-Full-time employee, bored out of my mind.
-Starting my own business, which will lead to me quitting my job in December, which will lead to more than a few lean suppers.
-Married to a dude who is awesome for many reasons, in particular that he doesn't mind being the housewife. And he's good at it too!
-Obsessive for short periods of time. This couponing thing may only last a few months, so I want to make sure it's going to be AWESOME.
-Will eat absolutely anything that qualifies as food in most civilized countries.

The PROBLEMS:

-In San Antonio there aren't very many grocery stores. Mostly it's HEB, which is great, but they don't double or triple coupons, and they don't accept expired coupons. They also don't have any kind of rewards program that I know of, either.
-I don't have a car! So everything either needs to be on a busline or walking distance. No running from store to store to get the best deals for me! I'll have to make do with what I have, and that is an HEB, a CVS, and a Walgreens nearby.
-Husbeast is reeeeealllly particular about stuff, and doesn't generally like couponing. I don't think he thinks it's worth the time or the embarrassment. I want to prove him wrong! After one month, I will challenge him to a grocery-off and see who can spend the least. Or something.

I love saving money more than life itself. Please help me do that better!!

Your first post is hilarious! Love it! So I hope the couponing thing stays b/c we would like to see you more around here.

And just so you know, you may not fair very well with groceries (I have no idea about HEB), but with a CVS and Walgreens in walking distance you will definitely be just fine! Two best stores to get lots of free stuff (once you learn how to do it that is). Good luck and ask if you need help!

Oh man, I loved San Antonio when I was stationed there for 9 months.

HEB.... his last name was Butts and that's why the store goes by his initials. Who would want to buy their groceries from a store called "Butts"???

Welcome to HCW. You may want to check out coupon trading to help you get some of the better coupon values so you can maximize what you can get at HEB. (and love that I now know something totally random about HEB, a store i'll probably never step foot in lol)
