I am not a complete newbie to coupons, but I feel like it. I am used to doubles (Kroger, Copps/ Pick-n-Save) or stores where I could catch a good deal even without coupons (Woodmans). I am trying to learn the ropes of my local stores: Publix, Winn-Dixie, and Wal-Mart (at least managers push things throug). Is there anyone else in my area that can give me a crash course in shopping at these stores b/c I am partially clueless as to how things work down here.

Welcome to Florida! I think you will find you can still get REALLY good deals at Publix. They have a great coupon policy as they accept competitor coupons. They also allow you to stack a Publix coupon with a Mfq coupon so you can usually get some really good deals that way as well. Be sure and check out the Publix thread here. Everybody is very helpful. The preview for the sale usually gets posted sometime Monday afternoon for the sale starting Thursday. Helpful to see the preview so you can print the coupons you need and gather the inserts etc. Also, always be on the lookout for coupon booklets. Publix puts out a lot of coupon booklets that have either store or mfq coupons in them. You know it is a Publix coupon when it has a LU# on it. Be sure to sign up for the free magazines like Grape, Greenwise and Family Style they mail out 4 times a year at publix.com. Let me know if you need anything, I shop at Publix ALL the time.
