New to HCW from Kansas

Hello! I'm new to the world of couponing, but I hope to get the hang of it soon enough. I have heard stories of people buying a shopping cart full of items and only paying pennies! I am beginning to understand how it all works, I just can't seem to get my hands on that many coupons (although I've found tons online). Is there a way to sign up to get the home mailers? And where does everyone get store coupons, all I ever seem to see are manufacturer coupons?

Hello from a fellow Kansan! Welcome to HCW. I usually buy 2 KC Star newspapers on Sunday if the inserts look good. You can find a preview of the week's upcoming inserts on taylortownpreview.com so that way you can decide if it's worth the money to buy a paper. I also order coupons off of coupon clipping websites. I don't know about signing up for home mailers. I have a Dillons plus card so I get Dillons store coupons in the mail every couple of months and every once in a while I'll get some Target coupons by mail but I don't know how. I hope this helps out some. We have some wonderful people over on the Dillons forum so be sure to join us and learn about some great deals.

Welcome from a NE Kansan! You're about to start having some real fun :)

A few tips
SAVE THE INSERTS. I used to just clip what I liked then throw away...and then 5 days later, the coupon queens would be posting how to get something free, and I had thrown the old inserts away.

PRINT THEM NOW. If you see coupons online for items you like....or MIGHT like, print them now and hold onto them for a sale. Nothing is more frustrating then when a sale comes out, and then the online printable is no longer available.

My best places to shop. Walgreens and CVS. I either A-make money there or spend 1 or $2 on $40 worth of stuff. At the grocery store, I am not happy unless I save about 60%...the first few weeks I didn't do so good, but I've learned. Don't just USE the coupon, use it with a great sale. Stockpile the great deals.

If you have a place that doubles coupons near by, it makes those coupons under $1 alot more fun.
