Newbie Hi,
I'm a rarity among coupon seekers and users as I see no males doing posts. I'm a 66 YO retired male widower that does all the household shopping and chores so I am always interested in saving a $. (Retired state employee on a fixed income.) All this information is somewhat over powering as I am wondering how to begin to understand and benefit the most from it. I have always clipped and used coupons, looked for bargains so I am not a complete novice, just at a loss as to how to put it all together without spending all my time doing it. What do you think?????

Re: Newbie Hello and welcome to HCW! In the beginning as you learn the ins and outs, your time investment will be a little bit higher. But you never have to spend more time couponing than you want to, just remember that.
The first thing you should do is check out these forums for great information to help get you started:
Getting Started ~ Couponing Basics for New Members - Hot Coupon World
Frequently Asked Questions - Hot Coupon World
Then you need to start hanging out in the forums for the main store(s) you shop at. In those forums, you will find ad previews, hot deals not advertised, and coupon/sale matchups to help you get the most bang for your buck.

welcome to HCW the world of great savings and nice people initially it seems like a different language but soon you will get a hold of everything.
Be sure to check the grocery store forum to check your local store sales and drug stores like cvs,walgreens etc to maximize your savings.
and if you like come join us in trading section so you can get the coupons you need for sales if you need more info you can pm any mod or ill be also willing to help.
