Disappearing self checkouts

Many of us have noticed that the self checkouts have been pulled out of a number of Weis locations. Apparently this is the company line behind it:

We're sorry for any inconvenience. We plan on expanding the number of cashiers to enhance the personal interactions with our customers. Thank you for shopping with us!

Uh huh...I'll believe THAT when I see it. Everytime I'm there now is a wait in line.

I've seen some stores pull them and others are pulling the current ones and going to ones like Giant, which I HATE!

Also noticed that the ones who have removed the self checkouts are having problems with the catalina machines. Last week I bought all the stuff to get a $7 catalina and none printed. They told me the catalina machines have not worked since the self check-outs have been replaced.
