Default WWYD Furious with my Weis

My shopping trip today was AWFUL..
I am seriously considering the 1 hr drive to another weis..

I purchased the $.50 off coupons for Tonys single pizzas & the $.50 Ronzoni pasta. They begin with a 5.. and i was under the impression they would double.. They DID .. BUT..the cashier corrected every single one of them and said they say they dont double so i have to correct them.. I spent $18 more than I wanted to.. I have always gone through the self checkup but since it wasnt busy thought it would save me time to just go through a cashier.. Boy was i WRONG..

    Im mad!!

I never understood why they have the do not double coupons. It is the store that pays for the doubling, not the manufacturer. I have a few favorite cashiers at each store I visit. I typically do the SCO thing too, especially with DND5s or using 2 Qs on a BOGO sale.

I'd have asked her to void them all off. That's a regular price on the Tony's, and the q's are good until the end of the year. You'll have plenty of other chances to get them with a different cashier. Every time I order q's, I throw a few of the Tony's q's in to my order. The kids like these for lunch. And for free, I love 'em! But since neither the price nor the q is time-sensitive, just get them another time. (I just re-read and saw the same thing for the Ronzoni. Since this was a sale price, that would be different...)

I have had the same problem with the cashiers at my Weis. I was so mad one time that I ripped the coupons out of the cashier's hand and left without anything. Of course for some ridiculous reason I have 2 Weis's within a mile of me, so I just go to the other one now.

I would maybe call the manager or talk to him next time you're in, maybe he/she can train the cashiers better. ;)

Got to watch the self checkouts if the item comes out free then you may be able to only use 2 until it makes you get a real person to push the coupon through. I know I was safe with 2 but as soon as I went over it went all mad at me. If the item is nearly free 4 is the limit before it makes you get a cashier.

I knnow the feeling. One day the same cashier I always go to lets a few double in the 1st transaction one day. The next he's pushing that "DND" button so you all know ahead of time. if they look at a coupon and hit a button before scanning it. They are hitting the DND Button. It sucks yes but for some reason or other they are saying they arent getting paid for the doubling if it doubles. I thinks its who hash but then again After that Ive used the SCO since and no problems.

I have a store near me that does this same thing. They are ****s about the DND coupons. The one time I was going through and he manually entered a few so they didn't double and then proceeded to do that with the coupons that weren't DND. So I had to correct him on those and he put them in so they doubled.

Yet if I drive 5 minutes down the road to the next Weis they are extremely friendly about coupons. Mostly kids work at this store, but still, it's amazing how one store varies so much from the next.

The SCO will require a manager card if you go over the $2.50 in coupon face value. I try to not do deals that end up at a zero balance just to avoid the cashier. My trips yesterday consisted of 4 of the MT olive B1G1 pickles and 1 can of dole fruit. I would use $2.50 in coupons and my total was $1.18 each time. I just had a weis go 24 hours near me so I can park at the SCO for a half and hour and do 10-20 transactions and have the store to myself,

My SCO requires a manager card if you go over 10% savings. If I'm shopping at Weis and save less than 10% to not require the card, that is a serious serious shopping failure!! Every time, I swear I'm not going to use the SCO again, but it's just nice to have control of my own coupons and not hand them over to some cashier that couldn't care less whether they scan correctly or not. SCO may be a pain in the butt requiring the manager card, but at least I have some degree of control and can watch the screen easier. You know, I believe 4 out of my last 5 trips, something has scanned a wrong price, so I got it for free. I always feel petty pointing out an 8c mistake, but if it results in a free item, I can be petty

That was a bit of a babble. sorry 'bout that... lol
