HOT Walmart Policy vs. Walmart Service

I have completely had it with the walmart in this town! I went last night, late, because I wanted to use my $3/3 Nabisco coupons for some cheap to free crackers.

Well, if I am going to go to Walmart, I figure I'll hit the trial size and such.

I got 7 toothpastes, 1 floss, 4 boxes of band aids. Then I found some reynolds foil for .98 on clearance. No coupon cause the box is too small, but still a better deal than any other I can get around here.

Then, I head to the crackers. Cheapest crackers were $2.68 on special. There were lots of posts that they sold some for $1. I figured it would be about .50 or so more for me. But I think $2.68 is outrageous for a tiny box!! I got a couple anyway cause I need them.

Then I noticed they had the hershey air bars that I can't find anywhere so I grab six of those.

I go to the register. No one behind me so I'm not holding anyone up at midnight..lol I price match the candy with RA for .50
She says she can't take the coupons because that's doubling coupons. She calls for the manager. She then procedes to scan my other coupons.
She asks me what size toothpaste I got. I told her that it didn't matter because the coupon clearly states "ANY" with no size restrictions. I had 5 from inserts and two printed. She won't scan the printed one's. She says that would be doubling and it's against their policy and illegal to use two coupons on one item. I very slowly explain to her that it is not doubling. I got 7 items and gave her 7 coupons!! Hello!!! Look at the receipt!! She then insists on me pulling out all the t-paste from the bag so she can check the size. Against What?!!

Meanwhile, it's 30 minutes later and the manager still didn't show up! There were now 15 ppl behind me in line. I told her I would just pay for it and go. She did not want to return the coupons that weren't used. She, Very Rudely, hands me my change and receipt, and snarkily says "have a nice evening"

This is when I get really mad. After she hands me my change she turns to the rest of the people in line and apologizes to them while rolling her eyes at me like I did something wrong!!! I was humiliated. All those people were looking at me with this strange look like I committed a crime!!

I think she should have apologized to me for accusing me of trying to do something wrong and for the manager not showing up to help. It should not take 40 minutes to buy 20 items!!

Anyone else have this problem with Walmart!

um no...and a call to the manager or their 800 customer service line would be in order today...

the coupons should of been returned to you. being seasoned, i would of told her either you give me the coupons back that you did not scan or ill stand here and wait for the cops to come and tell you to give them back to me. that is stealing.

i had a cashier at kroger "apologize" to the people behind me ..the cashier was the one taking forever...i spoke to the manager...needless to say the cashier didnt act like that again

Very poor training. Sounds like she didn't have a clue how to properly accept coupons.
Very poor customer service. Sounds like she didn't have a clue how to treat a customer.
Shame on Walmart in both areas. For not putting customers first in who they hire, how they train and what they value, and then in training them in their basic policies.
Both things highlight how little Walmart cares about good customer service.

Yes, I agree this should be reported.

15 people in line at midnight? One line open? Wow.

That's awful but not that surprising I guess. I always brace myself when I go to WM. I fully intended to have trouble using the $3/3 on the dollar boxes of cookies and crackers and was debating even going. But I did and happily even though the coupons beep, they did put them through and I was able to get 45 free boxes. But to say I was surprised is an understatement. At two different Walmarts even! I just hate the WM near me and usually have issues.

I hope you called today and got someone to at the very least apologize for how you were treated. So she never gave you back your coupons at all? I'd be curious to know if you're going to get any $ for them.

I have the same experience where they waste my time while waiting for a CSM to come over. Then another waiting period for the AM. SO now, at the first sign of trouble, I just ask for the item(s) to be removed from order and ask for my coupons. Makes it a lot easier to go to another cashier or CS, than waste time while a line is building up @ the register.

Even when I come prepared with my ads, not very many coupons and no IPs, there's something that goes wrong. It could've been easily fixed @ cashier's level but if they start hollering for a CSM who takes all the time in the world to come, I'd rather ask to cancel trxn.

She didn't give me back the coupons, but I reached across and grabbed them before I left.
I emailed corporate because the managers at that store are horrid anyway. It's difficult to return an item even with a receipt.
DH and I will be going back today. I am going to buy a lot more of the hershey bars. I will go prepared with the policies for coupons and price matching. I'll be polite but prepared for the fight!

It use to be that way alot for me. When they found out that I would call and send in emails on them they improved. I have stood in the line before and called the walmart service line on them...I would do that if I was you when they say you cant price match and use a coupon on the item to that is crazy.

Onice they know you are not going to take crap from them laying down they will improve towards you.

I use to care about holding the line up when I first got into coupons but now it is what it is. If the people in line are nice about it I myself tell them I am sorry for the hold up but if they are well you know I just go on as if nothing happen.
