Enfamil Newborn powder formula pulled from shelves as a precaution in all stores of Wal-Mart. This product has not been recalled.

A batch of the formula given to baby Avery tested negative for bacterium, but the specific bacteria in question can grow in dry formula, meaning it could appear after shipment.

If anyone has the 12.5 ounce cans with the lot number ZP1K7G, they should return them for an exchange or refund.

Oh my goodness, I just got a free 24pk of newborn liquid ready from Enfamil. Even though this is on the powder I am still unsure about using there brand at all.

I would hold off on the formula..but it actually sounds like it may not of been from the formula at all...Walmart is pulling it from the shelves just as a precaution..they may put it back once they know for sure where the bacteria came from.

sometimes parents can be really dumb with formula too..not saying that is the case here..but if the bottles were not cleaned properly, or the formula was left out too long ect...that can lead to problems esp for how young the baby is. HOPEFULLY they can figure out how the baby got sick...

It has amazed me more then once though...what parents have thought was sanitary when it came to bottles.

I wouldn't worry about it :) yours should be fine. You could wait a little bit to see if there is any more info, but me personally, I wouldn't worry.

Just wanted to add, they have not ruled out something in the water used to prepare the formula either. So I agree with the others, Wendy, just follow the precise instructions for the formula and make sure your bottles are very clean. Enfamil said they tested the lot of the formula and found nothing. Walmart is, in their own words, "acting out of an abundance of caution."
