I'm planning to shop online this year. Everything I bought last year was on sale online when I got home. In fact, I purchased 3 items that were out of stock in the store. I'm really only after toy items, and one of those I've already purchased on Amazon.com.

My sister called our store today and asked about the blue Wiis. They said they aren't selling them online, but Sams Club has them online now. Our store is always clueless, so I expect they'll be online at Walmart since they are at Sams Club.

Since they don't close before the sale, I'm wondering how it will work. Will they have things shrinkwrapped on pallets where we can't get them before the sale starts? Plus the "treasure hunt" aspect of using a store map to find the door buster items (tv's in frozen section, for example)

Our store will have the items shrinkwrapped on pallets with each pallet being guarded by an employee. They will announce over the PA system when it is time to cut the shrink wrap.

Our Walmart wouldn't PM on BF.

Tha't too bad, they;re supposed to, and I think some of their ads say they will. I did run into something interesting....

I successfully ad matched the Bambi DVD for $10 at Target with no ad in hand, as their policy states is not required. (My friend who bailed out at 11pm took my ads by accident ) However, when I tried to ad match the Play Doh 24pk for $8.99 @ KMart, they refused and said that they would not match something that's more than 50% off their price. I haven't gone back to look at their ad match policy and am wondering if the cashier was making something up b/c the register beeped and he didn't know what to do, or if it was because I didn't have the ad in hand After waiting in line for 3 hrs, I was not in the mood to fuss about Play Doh

There is nothing in Walmart's ad match policy that states they will not match an item that is more than a certain percent off their price. Sounds like you hit the nail on the head when you said he didn't know what to do when the register beeped. The bad part about trying to do a ad match on BF is that when you get to this situation here that poor kid probably felt like he was being yelled and screamed at by every impatient moron in America. I know that I saw a huge surge in the amount of impatient and inconsiderate people this year.

Me, too. Stories have been all over the news about shootings, pepper spray and craziness. Although I didn't see it at our store, there was a scuffle over the $1.29 towels and the police broke it up. I've been at concerts and sports events with fewer people. Trying not to the downers of the situation rob my joy, but I think this will be my last BF. Found the limits of what I am willing to endure for a deal. Figure if enough of us opt out, they will get the message

I went to the Walmart that I work at for BF this year. At 10 I saw an assistant manager opening up some of the apparel skids. He reminded everyone waiting to act civilized and take what they wanted and move on. As soon as he cut the plastic it might as well have been a riot. Then one of the zone managers was there just to shop, she had to pull her stun gun out because a guy tried to take her merchandise in the parking lot, directly outside the door of the building. It was crazy, people are just insane this year. I agree no deal is worth this, but the stores cannot control it, the only way to stop the madness is to end BF. Given that I traditionally do all of our Xmas shopping in one day, that is not my favorite option.
