Embarrassed and frustrated at Walmart

I went to use the $2 off 1 Tide detergent coupon from P&G, 10/30. I wanted to use four of them. This does NOT exclude any sizes at all. Walmart had the single-use Tide for 97 cents, which made these coupons $1.03 money-makers. This deal was listed on several coupon sites.

The register wouldn't accept it. First, the manager said the picture didn't match the product. Then he started going on about how the value was only 1/100 of a cent (???) and finally told the cashier to adjust the value to $1.I told them no, they needed to follow their own coupon policy and take it off at the face value. The cashier tried her best, but the total was I owed them $2.15 when I should have been RECEIVING $4.

In frustration, I asked for my coupons back and to remove the Tide from my purchases.

I called corporate, for all the good it will do.

Was I wrong in using the coupon? I'm sure you all know which one I'm speaking of. Any advice? Similar experiences?

The coupon barcode does not match the tide trial, because P&G/Tide has sent the tide trial to another company to package. So they are completely different barcodes...thus they will beep..and say that you have purchased the wrong product each and every time.

I'm sorry the sites you have gone to didn't warn you this would happen. Yes they know..they just don't care..they want you to read there site.

P&G will still reimburse walmart but they cannot force walmart to take the coupon and have put on there, on there Tide FB page notifying customers that this is a YMMV, that expect that not all stores will take the coupon on the tide trial.

I NEVER use any coupon on the Tide trial for this very reason. I save up for when they put out the $2 coupons and I go purchase the smallest size at Family Dollar or Dollar General..and that is how I stockpile. I dislike Coupon drama immensely and this coupon causes a ton of drama.

LOL CW&M mom.... I like that! "I dislike coupon drama"...precisely why I just don't bother with moneymakers or such its not worth my time. I save money on what I need and am happy with that.

OP sorry you were embarrassed but if you coupon you need to have a tough exterior and just let things slide right off. There will be another deal another day that will work flawlessly that will make up for this one.
