SMILE My run in with Cashier and CMS..New Info

I went to walmart tonight to use some 2/1 schick and 2/1 tide coupons so i grab 8 packages of 12ct schicks for 1.97 then i grab 4 tide single use detergents .97..go to ck out..cashier scans every thing and then the moment i give her the coupons she tells me she can't use cause they beeped even the schick ones so i had her call CMS and she telling me i can not use them either i explained to her about the wording on the coupon and so on and she just did not want to hear it.. then i told her i know the store coupon policy better then her.I think that made her more irate at me so i said call the Manager. half hour goes by and the manager comes looks, read the coupons and tells both the CMS and cashier that they have to honor them.then cashier got irate that i was getting money back for the overage. It funny that they think i am robbing them when they are just employees and i told the CMS she needs to study some on the coupon policy…..I will be going again tomorrow :big grin: by they way i got paid $2.79

I dont ever get paid! I always use the overage on items I need. This seems to stress them out less and cause less problems for me. Besides the overage just keeps me from paying for something the next week because I ran out of it. I use if on things that is hard to get for free or really cheap. Like trash bags, I am always looking for a great deal on those.

Did you also say "na na na na na" when you told her you knew the coupon policy better?

I too, just apply the overage to the cart. I never get cash back. Besides, I always have things to buy that my overage goes away, quickly. lol

Did you have a copy of the coupon policy with you?

So you took cash back then paid for the items you were going to use the overage on..sorry but that makes no sense at all....Your post said NOTHING about items that was to eat up the overage just that you got stuff that netted overage. Being alrady upset from having to wait on the store MTG fro 30 minutes I would not have stood there having them to take the non overage items off. I would have just been to happy to have showed them that I was right to have worried with that.

Some people want the CASH from overage and that is ok but I just think they are better about it if you have items to use the overage on.

Me too. I'm very careful to NOT get cash back.

Yeah - anytime there's overage, try your best to make it disappear into your order. The store employees just don't need to have that made so obvious to them. It really upsets people who work at the front, because they just don't understand and think the store is being ripped off.

They don't get the big picture. Leave that to the folks who set the policies sitting in the corporate offices with all the numbers and facts layed out before them, when it's the bottom line they care about.

For those who are checking you out at the register or managing the front of the store, seeing a customer go negative is no different in their mind than letting them walk out without paying.

There's just no need to upset them like that.

You know to me that is the whole point of finding coupons that give me overage. I mean there is 6 in my family and there are somethings that I just cant get a great deal on that often. We are not brand picky that much but each of us do have one or two items that we would like to have over other brands of the same item. So if I get lucky enough to find overage those items are what I use it on. I have never had a problem finding items to use my overage on plus I feel so much happier with myself to walk out with more free items in my buggy than I do $20(example) in cash for usually I also have coupons for the items thst I use the overage on which means that overage becomes more than just $20...

I dont want to drawn the csm/mtg over to me anymore than I have to or to my nice cashiers for they they get a hard time from the csm that means they will start to be not so nice to me about my coupons...let me tell you there is already enough not so mice cashiers out there that we have to deal with as it is..

I agree. The less attention I draw to myself and couponers in general the better. I have had a few transactions lately that haven't gone exactly right due to coupons scanning wrong or cashiers missing a coupon here and there. Usually if it is less than $1 difference from what it "should" be and what it is I just consider it the cost of doing business. I don't want to ruin a good thing over $1, ya know?
