    QUESTION Walmart Grocery Store?

I'm not talking about a Supercenter that sells grocery but an actual grocery store..

Has anyone ever seen one? I am getting one in my area and it's just a grocery store only. I thought this was a little odd but then I started thinking will the prices be the same? Will they have a bigger selection?

So anyone have experience with this?
    Surprise surprise..

When I worked at Wal-Mart they made your watch some videos on the computer as part of your training. They are called Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets. Or at least that is what they called them 5 years ago. Not sure about the prices but I am sure that they will do them just like if it was a regular wal-mart. They based their prices on the stores that our in your area.

My DH has one near him. I like the bigger ones personally.

I've never heard of that but I was just in our Walmart tonight and they are getting a grocery section. Not sure what all will be in it. So far they have just put up frozen and refrigerated cases. They also had a clearance aisle but there was nothing of interest there. Mainly toys and those fuzzy rug things that have elastic for your toilet top.

I have been in a couple, too. There is one near where my hubby used to work. There is another in Florida near my parents. I'm not a huge fan. I like the grocery stores because they have weekly sales ads with loss leaders. Walmart has falling prices and rollbacks, but they really just don't do the sales cycles like other stores which is one of the main reasons I don't care to go to a WM grocery store.

ETA: many of the prices were similar to regular WM. But, WM prices are different from store to store and by regions. The selection really wasn't much different, as I remember it. Mainly, it was smaller, less aisles, not a big box. Most everything else was just WM.

I live in Orlando and have one just a block from the house. I bought something at the supercenter and decided I to pick up a couple more from the neighborhood market. To my surprise the item was $1.50 more, when I showed the cashier my reciept from the supercenter. I got the reply that they don't match to the supercenters prices and that the reason it was higher was because of the convience it is for me to shop our neighborhood market. I really have to watch the prices at our neighborhood market many times I just find it easier to shop at the big store.

    I don't like them.
    Haven't compared prices though.
I went to find some drinks I wanted price matched.
Their selection was really bad - imo

They do have a body wash and deo section - really small.

For me - It's just too strange to shop in one.

    Big like a Sam's and I couldn't get to stuff I wanted.
Shelves are too high and bulky.

    Not a fan.

Besides when I am going to a REAL grocery store - I expect double coupons. Walmart is too high with out doubles.

When we were in Virginia this past summer, it looked like they were building one on Montecello. If they build one by me, I probably wouldn't go. I like the 'all in 1' of the everything WM

I'm thinking the OP was referring to the "neighborhood" Walmarts they have been opening recently. They are a smaller version of their store with a smaller selection of items. There's a description toward the bottom of this page: Walmartstores.com: Walmart
Wife to Jim and cat mom to Tucker, Benny, and Sadie

Yep it was a neighborhood market store I was in.
The sodas and paper goods were way up in the store like a Sam's.

Not a fan of this type store. Nope do not like those.
I won't even go in one to hunt coupons.
