I take the ad and tell the cashier that I'm price matching as she goes to ring the items up.

My SWM also said that they dont PM any stores that have a customer card like CVS, Bi-Lo, Ingles, Food Lion. I think that's crazy because all the stores around here have those cards so there is no competing. I called corporate complaining about the manager saying that and the lady said that it is true they dont PM any stores that have customer cards anywhere.

This may be a dumb question, but here goes.... I know some stuff about price matching, but what happens when you take, for example, a Walgreen's ad in for milk but it doesn't show a particular brand? Do I have to get the WM store brand milk, or can I go ahead and price match a name brand? Thanks for any help!

I live in a small town where the only competing grocery store for SWM is a customer card store. My SWM always PMs this store's sale prices.

When ads don't specify milk brands, I buy the GV brand at WM.

I almost always have the ads with me but have never been asked for them. Yesterday, I was asked what store the PM price was from and I thought the snippy young cashier was just asking to make sure I wasn't making it up (although if I were, I'd just make up the store, too!)

My friend is a CSM at WM, and she said that the only things they won't price match is the price AFTER EB's/RR's. If the price before those is still cheaper, they'll price match it. She also said that they don't do stuff like if you buy XX amount of groceries, they'll give you a free ____ or XX amount off. The actual prices are matched, but incentives are not.

I've never PM'd at my Walmart but was planning on doing it tonight with tp from Rite Aid. I called to make sure my WM did indeed price match. The lady said they do PM after they call the store to make sure they have the item in stock. I said "to make sure the store has it IN stock? So if Rite Aid is sold out, WM won't PM?" She said that was correct. ?????? Is this the norm? It didn't make sense to me.

I've never had them call the store either, and I've PM'd for YEARS. How on earth would they have time? They always have lines 3-miles long, and go as fast as they can, just to keep up. I can't see them taking time from the register to call the store.

UGH .. feel like a ding dong !! We went ALL the way to Kroger because their milk was on sale. Didn't remember that Walmart does PM. Since I started doing Q's in July I stopped going there unless I HAD to. Thanks for the info. :)

Are you kidding me?!!? That is one reason I PM at Walmart...suppose Kroger has a sale on Digorno's and they are sold out or just the particular type I want is sold out, I PM at Walmart. Sometimes just to get a better selection of flavors if everything is picked over at the sale store. I think it is yet another example of a local WM making up bogus rules as they go along. I would ask where that policy is in writing or ask for a manager!! That is crazy!!
