This weekend at walmart(over busy?)

I was just wondering if anyone that has been to walmart this weekend so far has found it to be cazy? I went last night about 7pm and it was packed with people. Everyone had buggies that were over filled with stuff. There seem to be about 10 to 15 people down every lane and to get to the meats you had to push your way threw, then it was not much to be had other than steak. I know this is a busy place and that its the first of the month but it seems worst than it normally is..

Now the thing is when I got ready to pay out there was no more cashiers than normal..maybe even less for there was less fast checkouts open than normal. There was one fast check out on each end and three regular ones in the middle open and that is it. The lines were all the way back in the clothes(like the christmas sale) and most everyone had huge amounts of stuff(buggies full to the rim and some even had stuff on the bottom.)

I am thinking that with it being the first of the month and the 4th, that they should have knew to bring in more workers.. The poor girl that checked me out said that she was suppose to get off at 9:30 it was 9:10 and the people behind me were going to take 20 mintues to ring up for they had so much stuff, then there was a line (back in the clothes) for her to checkout...her light was off and she had the closed sign out..lol no one could see it tho........said she had done been there 10 hours...Walmart really dont care about there workers do they? i already know they dont about the shoppers..

Holiday weekends are the worst for shopping. I avoid it like the plague really. DH went to WM today to do some returns and he said it was packed. I loathe WM anyways so he always goes. The only one we have is always packed and stock is awful. Plus I think alot of people got paid for two weeks yesterday (I know we did) so they stock up on stuff for two weeks.

I would have to repeatedly slam my hand in the car door and gnaw on the tires to get into the right frame of mind to go into Walmart at the best of times. I'd have to be totally tired of living to go in over a holiday weekend.

Weekends are crazy, but holiday weekends are just nuts! I won't go unless it's early early in the morning or late at night. I'd rather pay the extra few bucks and go to the local grocery store to pick up the last of what's needed or forgot over the weekend.

It was the perfect storm; holiday weekend, 1st of the month & a Friday.

IDK about other places but our WM (N Georgia) had 2 liter Coke products 2/$1, strawberries $1, Lay's chips for $1.50 and were giving away free ice creams.

I thought folks were going to kill each other over those Cokes, LOL

Not overly packed when I was there on Friday, just woefully understaffed. They only had two non-express lanes open and it took FOREVER to check out.

I knew it was going to be bad because it usually is on the first of the month but man it was waaaaaaaaaaaay worst then I thought. What really gets me is that if I was the mtg I would know that hoilday,weekend and first of the month all the same time I need to have more cashiers to come in so they dont get beat up so bad..you guys know what i mean, people get mad at having to stand in line that long with food for 30/40 to pay out because there is only 3 regular cashiers so when they finally get up there they are often mad and take it out on the cashier...not to even think about them being upset at so many others being down each lane while they are shopping.......I know the poor girl that check me out had a really hard time getting out of there for the csm did not want her to go,so I see no way that she was ever going to get to the last person in her line for I know they jsut kept gettong on line way back there at the end of it unless some was there to cut them off from doing it.

Been going to the same Walmart every week at the same time and last night it was doublely packed with customers and yes they even had the supervisor on a register and that still was not enough. Note this is 11 at night and there was at least 10 registers going.
