Thanks everyone for answering! I've used the overage on other items before, but must visit 2 tomorrow and wondering if I can just make it easy on myself and have them put the overage on a card. Thinking I will just take the coupon policy in with me.

What I always do when i have an overage situation at walmart:

    1) Ring Up ALL items, and POLITELY ask for the total

    2) Figure up how mush $ in coupons you have

    3) Place the difference in the two totals +$0.01 on a gift card

    4) Then hand them your coupons.

    5) Pay them your $0.01, and watch the look on their face when you get everything for a penny.

This way, there is "no" Overage, and you are technically paying them to take the stuff out of the store...PLUS they know you're going to bring the money back to their store (unlike with cash back)...and of course its a great way to get rid of Pocket change. :D

NOTE: My local Wal-marts do require you to put $5 on a gift card at a time
YES, a guy can coupon too.

I read the policy once and printed it out and went to the store to use my $2/1 dial q's and the cashier said that she can only ring it up as the price of the item! i argued and showed her the policy! In the end I had had 4 managers and a store somethin or other (not sure what he was but he was important lol) and they still said they could only ring it up as the price of the item so I took all my coupons and come back the next day and the cashier I got had no problem ringing the coupon up as $2 off! All that dilly dally for just a lil button hitting lol! the register didnt even beep

mine does , but you must have 5.00 or over in overage to load onto the card , so check with customer service desk first to see the least amount they can load at a time

Well, I went to Wallyworld this past week...coupon policy in hand. Had the worst experience ever. I, too had 40 Dial qs and 60q on other items. Couldn't get the Dial, because they couldn't find it (I called over 25 Wal-Marts looking for them and the one I went to had them and were suppose to hold them for me). Well, after 2 hours (after the cashier started ringing up my items), I had been told I could only use 1q per transaction (good thing I had the policy (which I was told was inaccurate)) and was told I could only use price-match or qs. I was so disgusted that I went home, with cash in hand (they let me get the 60 items with qs, "only this time" she said). Woke up called the Store Manager and informed him what I was put through (which of course, he was unaware) and even told me he was looking at the Body Washes, that were set aside for me. He wanted to make things right, so he offered to give me all 40 free and/or take the coupon value for the forty bodywashes, I couldn't believe it! He even told me that there is a coupon policy at every register, good to know...for those of us who forget ours!
