Blinkies are coupons which come from a small machine which has a blinking light. They are usually say Manufacturing coupon. I'm not sure what your using unless it is a coupon which belongs to a specific store?
I've always used blinkies @ Wal-Mart in the past and although they always beep cause they start with a 9, I've never had a problem with them pushing them through. That is until yesterday.....of course they beeped and the cashier first called a CSS, who stated that she needed to talk to a manager. So she talked to the assistant manager, who said that I cannot use them because they do not state "manufacturer's coupon" on them.
While I do know that Wal-Marts coupon policy states that the coupon must state that, I've never been refused until yesterday.
How can I fight that??? No where on blinkies does it state "manufacturer's coupon" so am I just outta luck???
Of course I got the lecture about those coupons can only be used at the store where you get them from.....
I have a call into corporate but even the lady on the phone said that the coupon must state "manufacturer's coupon".

They are manufacturer's coupons, except on a very rare occurrence where they might be store specific. In almost 4 years, I think I've seen a handful that were a store coupon and not a man. coupon. I don't really know how you would refute that, unless you point out the redemption address is not a store-specific redemption. I know the few store coupons I have seen have been Family Dollar coupons, and they will actually say, "Remit to Family Dollar" and not "Remit to P&G" or such.
I've not ever had a problem using blinkies at Walmart, but I do occasionally see others post about it.

My WalMart does NOT take blinkies because they do NOT read "Manufacturer's Coupon". I haven't ever tried in the last few years since they said no. Consider yourself lucky that you were able to use them when many of us could not....

Ya I kind of see it as a YMMV. While they have the address for remit they get stuck on the fact (the ones that start with a 9) that they don't say manufacture on them. We all know they are still a manufacture coupon but sometimes it's just not worth fighting them over it if they are that clueless.

I've been using $3/2 first aid blinkies the last couple of weeks and had no issues with them.
I actually saw a blinkie that said manufacturers coupon on it. Don't remember which one or where I got it from (possible a trade). LOL I was surprised. wish I had paid more attention. I have tried at Walmart but since they don't say "MC" they have been refused. that's ok....basically I figure if I see blinkies in a store I can use any blinkies there. It never hurts to try or ask....yes clearly they are MC and that is what the smartsource blinkie machines have in them but I agree with CW&M mom. Wish all cashiers were veteran coupon users. LOL Nathanbr2, very cool ....glad you tried and it worked for you. Don't be afraid to try guys.....all they can say is no and you can always have them take the item off. Maybe put your items that you have a blinkie for on last so they can be found easily if you don't want to buy them after all.
Yea, I've used these too, however it has been so varied for me using them. I had some cashiers who just pushed them through and another who told me they couldn't accept it because Walmart doesn't have the smartsource machine in their stores and that's why it beeps![]()
A total YMMV IMO.
