Our dept never left. :o)
Well, here in SE WI they took our fabric-by-the-bolt section away about a year or two ago, sad day indeed.
Happily, when I went in last week they were rearranging the area and had clearanced all the pre-cut fabrics they had to half off to $4 for 2yds. Figured something was going on. And now when I stopped in last night they were taking the plastic wrap off brand new bolts of fabric in that section. So, yes, fabric-by-the-bolt is back in the stores that lost it and for a time you can get some 'deals' on 2yds of precut fabrics (which I took full advantage of because that's just enough fabric for dresses for DD).

Our store just got finished with their remodel and they kept our fabric/craft department. After reading on here so much about how they were closing most fabric dept as soon as I noticed they were getting ready for remodel I asked about the fabric dept and was told it wasn't going anywhere. YAY ~ but we never had a $1 section pooh
fannie, our store just completed its remodel too and they kept the fabric/craft dept. I think its the only one in north Georgia.
I noticed the other day in our local Walmart that they had some precut fabric on bolt cards for $5. None of it interested me so I didn't check to see how much was on them. I thought it might have been leftovers from when they had the fabric department and were trying to get rid of. But maybe they are bringing it back? I could live with that.
Oh my aunt would be so pleased.
I had sanity once upon a time I promise. It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it

I was just in Walmart today and saw that they are getting their material dept back. They had the cutting desk set up and the aisle set up for the material, but no material yet. They did have sewing machines and buttons out. I'm excited about this! I always loved going to the $1 section I could always find some nice material in there for my daughter's dresses.
