QUESTION Is Price Matching Worth It?

What are the reasons people use WMs price matching? I can think of a couple, like the original store being out of stock or not coupon friendly/not accepting coupons. I was wondering what some others might be.

Also it is cheaper to go to Walmart and price match to save running to several stores.

I agree-After several years of not visiting WM unless I had to-I went last week and priced matched the Cap n Crunch and Dole Fruit Crisps from Wags ad and everything went smoothly. No stock at Wags so Wal Mart won.

    Have a great day

Think that pretty much covers it. Maybe if WM sees enough data on how many price matches they do in a given time, they might review their pricing on those items. (she says hopefully)

    My reasons-

Convenience - I have to go there for something else anyway
    - Other store that has item on sale is out of stock
    - one stop shopping saves gas
    - I'm closer to Walmart than the other store - saves gas
    - going to 1 store saves time

    Hi,

The Wags in my area are getting outrageous with rules now cause we have Yard Salers(and I don't mind) clearing shelves and braggin about making profits while they are inside the stores(I do care). I had always had a very good relationship with my Wags but after last week and no more special ordering(only to alert this store of good deals and benefit everyone) I will be done with Wags til this DM sees otherwise. Sooooo with their new limits Wags is forcing me to shop WM. Ohhhh well once again Wags loss-I was one who would "spend" almost $1,000 at one store alone. But like I said-Wags DM wants it this way and he says he does not care if shoppers go elsewhere. Great District Manager Wags.

This covers it for me! Sometimes you can get overage doing a PM VS going to the original store for the item and not getting overage.

I'm going to have to try out the price matching soon I think. WM is farthest from me (25 miles), so the gas thing isn't applicable. But then I spent 30 extra minutes going to another store because I was hesitant to see if they would price match Stater Bros and still accept my coupons.

    Thanks for the replies :)

I am in southeast texas and we are now limited to two daily transactions. The stores 30 min from me are limited to 1 transaction now.
In a WORLD FULL OF PEOPLE, only some want to fly. Isn't that CRAZY?!?

Likely they've been watching the "Extreme Couponing" on TLC and put these draconian policies in place as a reaction to the mass quantities purchased on that show
