Doubling coupons at Walmart?

I heard that Walmart is going to start doubling coupons up to 60 cents. Has anyone else heard this? I called my local store to ask if they doubled, and they said no. But I'm not sure when this policy is supposed to take effect.

OMGOSH I sooo hope they do..... That would be awesome, I havent heard anything about it... Where did you hear it from?

There are stores reportedly doubling in parts of Michigan.

I have FB friends in Utah...particularly the Utah County Area...that if your walmart is within close proximity to a store that doubles...that if you ask them to double (I believe 50 cents or less) then they will too.

They take the price off of the product first...so basically you have to ring up your stuff individually then the coupon tied to it. As an example.

Crest Toothpaste $1.50. Ask them to double the coupon. They look at coupon (.50 cent coupon) they lower the price of the tooth paste by .50 cents. Then they scan the coupon.

I know that, in some regions in Utah, Walmart has been doubling coupons up to and including $1.00 on TUESDAYS only.
So :
.25 coupon = .50 off
.50 coupon = .$1 off
.75 coupon = *oddly $1 off
$1 coupon = $2 off

Do a Google search and there's several posts about it...
I guess it's been happening since March/April.
(In the regional test market area of Utah)

It has me hopeful... but since I live in NY.... I know it'll be a while before it hits my state, if at all.

Cuz ... if memory serves me correctly... Utah is a state that does NOT have many stores that double coupons...

Utah...Wyoming...what's the difference (I lived in Utah most of my life). Smiths doubles every once in a while (I think albertson's does too)...but it sounds like in Utah county there are some individual owned stores that are doubling (not a chain)...thus I guess why it's working there in Utah county.

ETA spoke with my FB peep. The store near her that doubles (non walmart store) doubles only on Tuesday...thus why the Utah Walmart near her only doubles on Tuesday as well

I've heard this too on other forums. I don't think our store is and I'm in MI but it would be GREAT if they did!!!

I think if Walmart took on the policy of doubling it would be a win-win for everyone, Walmart included. I can only imagine how much business they would pick up on the grocery side of things. I, personally would be doing the happy dance if I was lucky enough to have my store jump on board w/doubles. Kroger Who?????

I totally agree, it would be amazing, the only store the doubles to my knowledge in my area is Stop & Stop and that is random, i've only seen the double coupons on the weekly ad once so far lol. how sad I know but, something is better than nothing.

As for Kroger, i heard they aren't doubling anymore, have no idea if there is any truth to it.
