Examples of the various new competitor/cats coupons that Walmart will or will not take:

There seems to be a lot of confusion about which kind of store coupons can be accepted at Walmart.

The ONLY store coupons accepted are those which state a fixed price on the product.

Here are examples of what can and can't be used at Walmart.

    ================================================== =======

    CATALINAS

Walmart will take catalinas if they are manufacturer coupons.

    They will NOT take these:

    But they WILL take these:

    ================================================== =======

    COMPETITORS DOUBLE OR TRIPLE COUPONS

Walmart WILL NOT accept competitor coupons that are for double or triple coupons.

    ================================================== =======

    COMPETITORS BOGO SALES AND COUPONS

Walmart will match competitors BOGO sales only if they state a specific price.

Walmarts Also tweaked there Price/Ad Matching Policy

If you would like to print it off...go here: Walmartstores.com: Our Ad Match Guarantee

    This is what it states:

    Our Ad Match Guarantee

We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.
We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*

    • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
      • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)

    • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price at a specific retailer
      • Example: $2.99

    • Preferred shopping card advertised prices for specific item
      • that are in a printed ad and require a competitor's shopping card for the discount to apply

    • For fresh produce and meat items
      • when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)

*The following are guidelines and limitations:

    • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
    • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
    • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)

We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:

    • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
      • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"

    • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
      • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"

    • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
      • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card

    • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
    • Going out of business or closeout prices
    • Percentage off
      • example: "All mascara, 40% off"

    • Competitors' private label price promotions

    We do not honor:

    • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
    • Internet pricing
    • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
    • Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

In four different WM had problems in two. One in a WM that the day before told me after 45 minutes of going back and forth that I would have no more problems in that store. The cashier was kind of passive aggressive, she would reach over and pat my hand and tell me she agreed with me and then tell me I was ripping off the store. She said she just wouldn't feel right and would feel guilty. Ugh! It was so frustrating!! My coupons were finally accepted in all the stores, but it's still difficult. I was not getting any cash back, just overage. In one store the cashier was like "oh no, you CAN NOT do that!". She had scanned all the coupons then proceeded to take them all back off. I asked if I could speak to a manager (because she would not even look at the coupon policy I had brought with me), she called him over and as I was explaining to him and he WAS reading the policy another manager came over and said "oh, I've got this." I though oh no I'm done. But she said she had been on the phone to the home office and that I was . . . . .RIGHT!! She told the cashier to take the coupons, then she asked if my total was a negative (it wasn't), the cashier kept saying "but the item is .97 and the coupon is 3.00". Manager said it doesn't matter. Cashier: "what if total was a negative?" Manager: "Then you would owe her (me) money!" Cashier did not look happy about that. I told them it was too bad that WM put this out without letting the stores know, and the manager said yeah I know!

Added an example of a Competitors Double/Triple coupon to the Wiki as Walmart will NOT accept these, Albertsons here in the NW issues these coupons every few weeks and before the newer coupon policy changes at Walmart I heard reports that some Walmart stores were accepting them. I am sort of glad that they have officially said that they would not accept them because I had a feeling that Albertsons might decide to stop doing the double coupons because of Walmart accepting them. And we don't get good doubles here to begin with and Albertsons is pretty much the only store that does them, even though you can only do three coupons per transaction.

I also wish the PDF downloadable coupon policy was not such a ink waster! LOL

Will be working on getting more scans in the wiki.

If anyone finds a BOGO store coupon (like a walgreens coupon) that states the price in the coupon if you can let us know...or scan it and add to the wiki. I'd really like to get some examples of that.

We're in for a fun ride folks...while this new policy gets all sorted out.

Couple things I noticed off hand: this policy: We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.

and this one: There is no limit on the number of coupons per transaction. ~~My gosh a store actually posted the word TRANSACTION!~~

And in case anyone missed it...this new policy nixes any use of Register Rewards or other catalina's that are for $ money off the entire transaction...instead of tied to a specific product

i wondered about that= We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
So, they will take my word for it? totally weird!

Several years ago when I would price match alot...It was usually mountain dew I was price matching...and I would just tell them "Hyvee has pepsi/m dew for 99cents a 2 liter" and that was enough for them.

However when I would price match a bunch of stores...I always made sure I brought my ads with me.

My Walmart usually has the other store ads there somewhere in case I forget. I usually have the ads with me in my binder though.
