Yeah, its really not that hard to modify it to the correct price..lol every other store does it.
I tried to get Maalox from Walmart and the cashier refused to let me use the $5 coupon. She told me that because the coupon was more than the product it will not work. I explained that all she had to do was scan the Q and put in the price of the product. I asked to speak to a manager and she said that she WAS the manager.
OMG! Why Why Why? Why have a coupon policy and NOT train your employees on it? I told her to forget it and then asked her to look into it for the future!

...and tell them you that an employee (and if you know there name..even better) refused to let you use a coupon for the product specified in the coupon.
Be sure to explain to them that the cashier said they were a manager as well..because if they were not...extra trouble for them.
I usually email them...and then what typically happens is a manager from the store contacts me to apologize for there cashier who did not understand there own coupon policy.
Now I will throw out...that I would assume that you had products to eat the overage for the product. Although a few walmarts seem to be generous enough to actually give cash back...I don't trust mine to ever do that..so I always make sure I have other things to eat the overage.

it's always worth it in the end! you weren't in the wrong. walmart wants to have the lowest price. so we can't help that coupons come out that are more than the shelf price. also they should change their coupon policy if they don't like it. and I completely agree that they sooooo need to school their cashiers on how to handle coupons and what the actual policy is.
we were just at walmart this past weekend and got 5 bottles of maalox, I believe they were $4.38, we also had other items, and the cashier gave us the full $5.00. So we actually made .62 per bottle. She didn't even mention it.
Where do you get the coupon at? I've looked online for a printable one.
