Walmart being asked to take down christmas decorations?

A friend of mine works at a walmart and she was told by home office that they had to remove there christmas decorations and the big trees they have decorated and to stop playing christmas music over their speakers. Is this a nationwide thing? If so that is just plain dumb! My mom works at walmart but is off today so she doesnt know if the christmas stuff is taken down at her store. Anyone else been in a walmart today? If they are doing this what next? Not selling christmas trees?

I'm shocked any major retailer still plays christmas specific music or decorates with christmas themed products. It isn't that hard to do happy holidays and be more respectful of other peoples different beliefs and traditions.

the celebration is about the birth of the Christ child, so i kind of wonder where the reindeer and elves and snowmen come in, myself.

I think in the reality is its easier to not do anything festive because of all the different religous traditions. But theres all these new ones that keep popping up. To make everyone happy would be impossible.
I enjoy the trees the lights and all the colors. It just puts you in the spirit.
The christmas stuff was put up not too long ago though too . they should have thought about it before it was all put up because now the store has to go through and take ALL of it down.
I dunno it doesnt bother me but just suprising.

I want to take my kids to church during christmas one year when they are able to fully understand what they are learning. I always enjoyed the holidays at church when i was growing up because we always put on the play every year!
It seems every year less and less of the holidays are being shared because of all the different religous traditions and then new ones come up left and right.

How old are your kids? You would be pleasantly surprised at how easily they would understand the true meaning of Christmas.
