Why is it disrespectful to other religions if Christmas decorations are up or of Christmas music is playing when you are buying milks and eggs? This is a majority Christan country- more people then not are of Christian faith and celebrate Christmas. Even if you take a pop culture view rather then religion view- our whole culture reveres December as a month of festivity- Christmas festivity that it. All the big sales, all the classic music and movies...

I just not see how it is disrespectful to to other religions if the community at large ( personal and commercial property) is decked in its Christmas finery.

I was at WalMart last night & they had a HUGE section of Christmas trees, decorations, etc. All secular stuff of course, but it was there. All the PC stuff makes me very cranky. Let's call it what it is...Christmas, the celebration of Jesus Christ's birthday. If you do not believe in Christ, ok, don't celebrate!

Anyone else been in a walmart today? If they are doing this what next? Not selling christmas trees?
WHAT? That is ridiculous. They are a private business. And on top of that they sell the damn trees and decorations.

I am sick of this crap. I don't want my daughter praying in school, but who gives a rat's behind if Walmart has Christmas trees?

I was in Egypt a few years ago right before Christmas. What did the hotel have in the lobby? A Christmas tree.

A long time ago it didnt bother anyone. But now people are all sue happy and such. If they can get angry and make a large company do something such as take down decorations people do it just for the thrill that they found a way to do it. when i was growing up i knew of christmas and hannukah(sp). Now there is kwanza and who knows what else. Im sure there are plenty more.
There used to be prayer aloud in schools. well that has changed now.
Eventually it will all just be plain and boring with all the religous rules they come up with.

I think it is wrong if they take the decorations down. I think most people like the pretty lights.
As for the praying in schools I have taught my kids that they can pray out loud whenever they want to and they have. I got a call years ago about it and went up there and told the principal my child can pray whenever she wants to. It is her right.
    Please pray for my family.
Please keep Elizabeth in your prayers. She lost her Father on 2/19/2012.

Of course it is. It just isn't the right of the school to sponsor it.

well just another reason I hate WalMart. !!

As far as I'm concerned, my family will continue to celebrate CHRISTmas (notice there is no X in Christmas) no matter who it offends. I personally am offended by those who are trying to hinder this joyous occassion.
Please Help me save on the things I need here!
if you can say a prayer for my family!

Here at where I work, we decorate with trees and lighted swags and red paper and rugs everywhere. We also play christmas music over our system. I have even heard o holy night being sung. So this must be something special to WalMart.

And what makes you think THAT is ok? No religion has a "right" to the holiday. It wasn't even about Jesus to begin with if you want to get really picky. It was highjacked from ancient celebrations and cultures.

If YOU want to celebrate it as Christs b-day.. then that is YOUR right. YOu have ZERO right to tell anyone else that if they don't believe the same as you, they can't participate.

How would you like it I told you that if you don't believe in Mithra, you have to sit December 25th out?

Sheesh. This is what is wrong with todays culture. Its not about being to PC...its about intolerance towards others beliefs or lack of.
