if you're planning to use the $1.50/1 or $1/1 on ANY Tide MQs on the .97 trial size, know that the register prompts ITEM NOT FOUND or SEE JOURNAL when those 2 coupons are scanned,

UNLESS you get a cashier who is cooperative and understands ANY means ANY size and MQ does NOT exclude trial size, they will enter it as vendor coupon; otherwise, be prepared for them to give you back the coupons.

weigh the situation if you can win the battle.

Even though my walmart is pretty good about the exact scenario...that is why I don't try and purchase sample stuff with q's. I'm not going to push my luck on some dinky sample of tide.

I get them, regardless of the hassle, whenever I don't have a use for all the P&Gs I get (like when the commissary puts out huge stacks of them). They are constantly collecting for troop care packages, not to mention church mission groups and for personal use for vacation. Small things like laundry soap and toiletries that we take for granted, are very valuable to those on a deployment, particularly in a sample size--they are small, lightweight, travel well for moving tents or carrying back and forth from the laundry, and they don't have to pay premium prices for them at the small retail facilities available at the remote locations.

I agree it can be a good bit of hassle to get the trial sizes. But if you have 5 or 6 of these q's and your family will not use the travel sizes, I encourage you to take on the hassle of getting them for those who are *really* going through a hassle.

If you're not sure where to bring the trial sizes, or just don't want to deal with it at all, there are plenty of military, military spouses, and retired military on the boards--any of us will be happy to help you find the nearest/most convenient way to get these freebies to those who really can get some use out of them! :)

some WMs don't have a travel/trial size section BUT most SWMs have one.

if you see Tide 2 go pen, make sure to dig into that bin and most likely the Tide sachets are there.

if you've been couponing for a while, I'm sure you've learned to 'catch' the vibes of cashier you're dealing with. for me, once the dreaded ITEM NOT FOUND or SEE JOURNAL comes up, WHICH WILL DEFINITELY COME UP IF YOU"RE USING any of the 2 Tide coupons on the trial size. I guess the coupon must have been programmed that way to alert cashiers to check correct item purchased.

at the first sign of rejection on part of cashier, I just take off the Tide and get my coupons back. for cashiers that don't even ask and just enter the coupons as Vendor Coupons, then I proceed to buy them. Otherwise, this is a coupon that is NOT worth fighting for when it does not scan.

Some have the Tide in trial sizes, others don't carry it. 2 of the 3 SWM's I go to have it. They all carry different trial sized stuff, so my suggestion is to look at a different walmart, if possible. Or you could ask your SWM's manager to start stocking it. I have no trouble using the tide coupons for the travel sizes.

Since I routinely get about 25 inserts a week, I wash laundry for free using the coupons and the travel sizes. I think if you are persistent about it, your SWM will get used to you. Oh- and I ALWAYS use the youngest looking cashier.
