Thanks and reps to the OP! :)

My store had a bin chock full of these today. I got 7 packs and spent just 49 cents on tax. My cashier must not be used to seeing great deals because she seemed really impressed. And giggled through the whole transaction.

I found a bin of these too! They had some school stuff in the garden center area wich is where i found mine. I had 13 coupons so i got 13 pks. Now if i could only get to target for the mead folders. they are 97 cents at walmart. They had the blue ,red and some other crazy color for the post it notes. Thats my first walmart freebie. wasnt as exciting because we were in their buying paint and stuff and spent over $200 on paint and blinds and stuff for the house but i know in my head we only paid tax on the post it notes!

    Hi!

First off, I want to preface this post with the fact that I printed several coupons BEFORE the wording changed. I want to make sure that I don't get in any trouble for posting. Now, with that being said here is my sticky story!

I stopped at a Wal-Mart yesterday and got some post-it notes. I had some coupons and gave dad some coupons as well to use. We checked on opposite ends from each other, so we didn't know anything about each other until after we checked out. Anyway, I went to the register and put my post it notes and other items up on the counter. I was standing at the little thingy that you use to write checks on and laid my coupons up there. She saw the coupons and said, "Oh, you can't use those." So, of course I asked why and she told me she didn't know, "they" just told her they wouldn't accept them. So, I just looked dumbfounded. She (without me having to ask her) pressed the button on the register for a CSM. She read the coupons to the person on the phone and they told her to accept them. Well, this other cashier walks down the aisle and sees the coupons and says, "You better not take those or you'll end up in such and such's office". She explains that the person on the phone told her to take them. So, she grabs one and says, "I'll be right back".... So, we stand there and we are talking while she is gone. No one is in line behind me because this is like 9A.M. Cashier #2 comes back and is shaking her head "No". She tells the cashier that that the cash office said not to take them because it is "giving" away items. So, I look at her and say... "Well, you will get a $1.00 back when you send in the coupon so you get your money". Cashier #2 says, "No, we don't get any money back from the coupons" LOL I just wanted to laugh. Here's the funny part... My dad was waiting on me on the other end and didn't have a bit of trouble! In fact the cashier told him he got a good deal!

OK, so a little later I go to another Wal-Mart. I check out and the guy scans the coupons, etc. I was telling him I was a teacher and was always looking for good bargains, etc. At the end of the transaction he says, "Boy, I hope I don't get in trouble for taking these coupons." So I looked at him and said, "Well, I don't know why you would, I used the same number of coupons as I had product for the coupons"

Now, last Wal-Mart I stop at for the day. BTW, I was on my way to the state fair and just stopped at different Wal-Mart's to break up the trip going to and from. Anywho, I check out and I have some post-it note coupons as well as some Glade Oil Refill coupons. I bought Four 2pk refills and four single refills. Well, I used 3 $2.00 off twin packs and a buy one twin pack get one twin pack free coupon. This Wal-Mart is small and very busy. As I was checking out her phone rang. It was a CSM wanting her to go do a price check for the cashier in front of her. She continues ringing me up and scanning my coupons. When it came to my b1g1 coupon it beeped and she had to put an amount in. She put in $4.88 and it said "invalid amount" or "value too large"... I'm not sure which... So, she presses and button and keeps going. Well, when I finished checking out I was looking at my receipt and she entered the amount for the single refills. So, I tell dad I'm going to go to the CS desk to get my $2.55 back if there isn't a long line. So, their were only a couple people in line so I stay. I keep looking at my receipt and noticed she charged me for TWO EXTRA TWIN REFILLS!!! I get up to the register and explain it to the lady and she goes and gets the coupon from the cashiers drawer. She comes back and refunds the two extra refills first and then she talks to a couple other cashiers to figure out how to get the $2.55 back on the coupon. She was super nice too! Finally, they figure it out and I get about $13.00 back from them!!

So, I'm curious... Was I not using the coupon correctly at Wal-Mart number one? I mean it was the old one and didn't have a dollar limit on it or anything. Do you think that maybe they were getting the two coupons mixed up and maybe thought it had to be more expensive post its? Maybe the cashiers were just poorly trained? I'm not sure, but it kinda worried me. I only had bad trouble at Wal-Mart number one and then number two Wal-Mart was just kinda funny that he said he hoped he didn't get in trouble.

This was just an odd experience!! I also don't know why the one cashier said they didn't get money back for the coupon... I mean, I am about 99.999999% sure that they DO get the money back. BTW, does anyone know how the company matches the coupon with the product to make sure that the store did actually SALE the product to a customer?

Thanks so much and I look forward to reading your responses!

Walmarts are very picky & some work better than others. I have some cashiers that are coupon police & read every coupon word for word with a magnifying glass to be 100% certain that it's OK. Others just scan them through & don't care. My understanding is that it is up to each individual store manager what they do & don't take when it comes to getting stuff for practically free. They do get money back for each coupon. They get face value plus a handling fee for each coupon. The only time they don't is when they price an item so low for a sale that they barely break even on its sale or when they do a doubling coupon scenario.
