in my experience it beeps and asks if this coupon is a valid amt... and all they have to do is hit ok/yes or what ever it is for them..
I'm just wondering because I want to use a $1/1 for an item that costs a dollar. :)
done with this couponing stuff. it's getting in the way of everything. see you in a while, Germany.

It really depends. I know, not the answer you were looking for! First off, if a coupon is for more than the item's price (overage) it will beep no matter what. It prompts the cashier with "Valid coupon amount?" and all they have to do is press a button or "push" it through. Sometimes certain cashiers make this more difficult than neccessary.
For a $1 coupon on a $1 item, it could go either way. I've been using the $1 Carefree q's for the $1 liners, and have had no problems. No beeps or prompts, they go right through. But I know that I have had coupons beep before if they are equal to the price of the item. Not sure if this will actually help you or not, but hopefully you will be a little more prepared for beeps. Good luck!
most of the time...yes
