Bummer! They were probably losing alot of money on it. Sometimes seems like they don't really mind their signs being wrong but I bet they did then.

K-Mart has the policy that if something rings up the wrong price, they give you the the item for free if it is under $3 and if it is over $3, then they put $3 on a gift card and give you the $3. They won't automatically do it, you have to ask for it. This is for only one item if you bought several of the same thing.

A store mgr called me today and said they would sell it to me 1/2 price. When I went there today, they had changed the 0.00 sign, but still had the wrong price. This time they had $26 advertised above the item.

If it were anything above $0, they would have had to honor the price on the sign, but I didn't think they would honor $0, since that not really a price. As previously mentioned the price guarantee is no longer in effect, but they will refund you the difference when there is an overcharge.

I've been following this post not because I'mhoping to get something free but because I'm wondering if everyone else's Walmart is having the same issues as mine. I've noticed many items in my store that are priced wrong and most of the time the shelf sticker says one thing and another shelf tag or sign will have a different price. This happened on some soup I was buying for several weeks in a row even though each time I pointed it out to the cashier and customer service. I'm beginning to wonder if Walmart is doing this on purpose although I can't imagine why.

One reason they might do it on purpose is because of employees. If an employee points out that a price is wrong and the cashier overrides the price, the employee will not get their discount. My fiance has noticed this before so now he always price checks with a scanner and if the shelf price is different, he only has them override if it's cheaper than the scanned price minus the discount.

I've never known that, sdasilva27. I'll have to watch that next time I need a price adjustment. I know that price-matching knocks us out of our discount, so I should have thought other price adjustments would too.

The Walmart I used to work at (and now the different one I shop at) will correct the price if the printed shelf tag is lower (for the actual item, not just something in the wrong place). Unfortunately the big rollback signs can be changed by anyone (even some bored teens) so I think that's why they are less inclined to change the price.

I have seen plenty of kids pulling pranks at WM and would bet that was the reason for the sign you saw. No way a store employee would purposely do that.

I don't understand...do you expect Walmart and its employees to be perfect? I work at Walmart and this is obviously a case of something getting moved on the shelves and the price not getting changed as quickly as the item was moved. I think it is obvious that this would not fall under 'false advertisement' guidelines.
