Walmart ~ Question: WalMart would not take my smartsource coupon

blinkies are manufacturer's coupons unless they state "only redeemable at ABC Store" or whatever store. I have seen maybe two of these that were store specific, ever.

Walmart doesn't have SmartSource machines, so maybe that is the issue. Just like any other coupon at Walmart, this is going to be manager's decision. :shrug7:

Oops! I should have put the word "not" in quotes. I know that they're mfg coupons...but the cashiers and managers at my stores insist that since they don't say it on the coupon, that they're not. I was being sarcastic...but it didn't come off right. I know that alot of people would keep going there and battling it out with them, but it's not worth my time.

They told me to use them at Kroger which is where the blinkie machine was. I have never seen a blinkie machine in Wal Mart.

A few of the cashiers at my walmart will take them, really depends on which one I go to

The one and only time I ever used one the cashier called a manger over to verify that it was a "real" coupon. It's just easier not to use them at my Walmart.

It's because some of the blinkies start with a "9". I have had that issue before when I try to use them and the cashier said that they don't take it because the machine won't scan, and they are told not to take coupons that won't scan. Many occasions, I had blinkies DND 5 and I had to convince the cashier to scan them because I was pretty sure the register won't beep...

Walmart is anal about coupons - nowadays I only go there if I cannot get the same item elsewhere for a comparable price or if its free or I can't get it otherwise somewhere else without driving 50 miles oneway. I use blinkies at the self checkout - I rarely ever use the regular cashiers checkout when I go, it's usually easier doing myself. A lot of c/o's that do not scan initially, will scan just fine if you cover half of the barcode!

I rarely use blinkies at WM and the last time I remembered using them were during the $1 sale on Hefty quart size bags with $1 blinkie. I think those blinkies were DND5 so they scanned and were taken at WMs I used them.
