She's on crack..
So I have been using coupons at walmart for a long time now and never had a problem until today. I have always been able to purchase several of the same items and use coupons on each one. To clarify that I mean I have bought say 4 jars of peanut butter and use 4 coupons that are the same on each jar. 4 jars and 4 coupons should be ok right? Well today had the front end supervisor tell me that that was considered doubling! WTH? She told me that they only accept 1 coupon per purchase of like items. So what she meant was if I buy 4 jars of pb then I can only use 1 coupon for pb. I was so mad! I told her that walmart has always let me use many coupons as long as I purchased 1 item per coupon used. I called 1 800 wal mart and was told that they consider that doubling coupons and it was not allowed. Am I missing something here. I always thought that doubling meant that if I gave them a coupon for say .50 and they give me a dollar off instead then that was doubling. I am so frustrated that I will never go back! I will drive the 43 miles once a week to shop at Publix where I know they accept all my coupoons. Has any one else had this happen to them at their walmart?
You got ripped by someone who's uninformed. However it is weird they said the same thing when you called 1800WM.

That has not happened to me, the last several trips I used 10 Seapak each trip along with other multiples. I don't go there much anymore since the cashier told me if I wanted to use q's I had to take them to customer service because he did not want to ring them up.
Our store is starting the "Target" look alike remodeling.
I never met a coupon I did not like.
You are correct. A doubled coupon is when you double the value of a single coupon.
I once had a newer cashier at a grocery store think that he needed to scan the coupon twice to make it a "doubled coupon" on our doubling day. So, I did have to explain that to him so he didn't end up getting in trouble!
How odd that the customer service people said that though....
glad to know its not me thats CRAZY! I plan on calling the store manager in the morning and asking her about their coupon policy and to inform her of the very rude so called head cashier. I really should have had her put my whole cart back up and give me all of my coupons back right then. I had my son with me and really didnt want to cause a scene. I did tell 1800 walmart gal that I would not be back and I would inform all my coupon pals of the way they did. All I know is they lost a lot of business today over a stupid head cashier!
WM is notorious for having uninformed cashiers and CS people, that is definitely NOT double couponing. I am a huge cashier profiler when it comes to WM and have gotten the only one coupon per purchase song and dance, but never that. The more I get into couponing the more WM just sucks, but for myself sometimes I gotta bite the bullet and go there because they only have that item. The other day I bought 10 bottles of Purex on a BOGO, other times I've tried to use 3 Huggies Qs and been shot down, many of their cashiers are grossly untrained. Do you have their coupon policy printed? M,any times that shuts em up, but not all.

I absolutely despise Walmart, their coupon policy changes at will depending on their store manager of the day it seems. I have called corporate on them when I have been humiliated & burned at Walmart & they have done nothing.
I stay away now, it's just not worth the hassle anymore, I wait for a sale to get stuff cheap and if I don't before the coupon expires, that's just the way it is, I wait for the next one to roll around.
Here is what Walmart stands for:
Where
A
Lousy
Manager
Always
Refuses
To let me use coupons
I giggled a little at your comment because I have a Super Wal-mart two miles from my house yet I drive 45 miles (each way) to shop at Publix one to two times a week! (I MIGHT go into Wal-Mart once a month. Maybe.)
Sorry they are complete idiots!

You were correct in that you should be able to use one coupon per item unless otherwise stated on the coupon (like $1 off 2 items, you could use one coupon on two items). Calling the store manager and calmly explaining the situation as well as directing her to the published policy HERE might be your best option.
I can't believe the corporate hotline agreed with the cashier.
